That's remarkable I would have thought if lap improvements where to come from anywhere it would have been the wet instead the dry lap.

AMS measured the 991 Carrera 4S PDK and it is only 0,1 sec faster to both 100 and 200 kph than the manual-version.

I have to correct my first post: they used winter-tyres for the wet testing as well.
I will scan the article on Tuesday, also a longer summary will come soon. :)

that's one hell of a stick driver then !
And a quick testcar as well... 0-100 in 4,3 s and 0-200 in 14,6 s is quicker than what Porsche claims (4,5, 14,9 s).

Technically, the C2S should have been faster in the dry so I am surprised why the C4S was quicker?

The 4S corners just as fast as the S, but it comes out of corners a bit faster, because of its better traction and 10 mm wider rear tyres. :)

Both testcars were on normal PASM-suspension with PDCC (chassis control).

The 4,3 s 0-100 km/h time of the 4S is great, but the hard launch can kill the clutch quickly.

AWD will made much less of an impact on a 911 than almost any other car due to its engine placement.

That it will make less of an impact could still mean it makes some impact.
Would be interesting to know how balanced these two are. If the AWD version understeers more (not uncommon when comparing RWD vs AWD), then this slight imbalance might be exacerbated in the wet.

It took only 10 months for Sport Auto to post the full results and picture gallery online, lol.

Porsche 911 Carrera S vs. Carrera 4S im Test: Allrad- oder Heckantrieb?

I don't really see any real conclusion, so I'd guess it's up to personal preference.

I'd go for Heckantrieb and never look back. I'll take some FWD or AWD car for those couple of slippery days we might have over here...
I mean, that picture alone says it all. A boring 911 behind one that's having fun...
