A7/S7/RS7 some new intel: Audi S7 Scheduled for Paris Launch

IAA 2011 in FRANKFURT
RS7 Premiere with 4.0TFSI 550hp.

I think this will be the minimum amount of power this engine will have. I expect more power unless Audi plan to tune the engine up for the S8 or even RS8??.

That Citroen looks like a woodlouse lol! I think the S7 in the photo is under hard accellaration or there testing with the boot fully loaded.

Audi S1, Audi RS3, Audi RS7 Sportback: Here’s the latest intel!

September 25, 2010 | Source

We have the latest intel about the Audi S1, the Audi RS3 and the Audi RS7 Sportback. A must read!

Audi S1: Will receive the 220bhp 2.0 liter turbo-engine known from the VW Golf GTI

Audi RS3: Will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2011, engine is coming from the Audi TT RS, delivering 340 bhp. It’s also coming with huge air intakes and 2 armsized exhaust pipes. quattro of course is standard and the Audi RS3 accelerates in less than 5 seconds from 0-100 km/h, top speed is governed at 250 km/h, but you can remove it (option) for a top speed up to 280 km/h. Price is said to be around 49.000 Euro ($66.000).

Audi RS7 Sportback: Will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2011. It will be powered by a new 4.0 liter bi-turbo engine with appr. 550 bhp. Prices will start at around 110.000 Euro ($148.000), can be yours from end 2011.

The output figures for the S7 have been posted and they appear to be greater than originally thought. Instead of the S7 getting 408PS which would have been less than the previous model it now seem that Audi intend to give it 450PS which will position it well ahead of BMW's 550i and Mercedes CLS 500.

Recalling a recent magazine interview in which an Audi spokesman stated that 140 HP per liter displacement is a most desirable power output goal for high performance engines, 560 HP seems right on the money for a future RS7. That 140HP per liter is approximately the output seen in the 2.5 5 cylinder TSFI engine in the TT RS' engine bay or the 2.0 4 cylinder TSFI as installed in the GOLF R. Hmm-could that mean that we will eventually see an evolution of the VW-Group 5.0 10 cylinder delivering 700 HP ? While not necessarily an endeavor "fitting" for these times, it is a tantalizing thought. Maybe in a production version of the Lamborghini Evoque ? Or a spiritual successor to the Lamborghini Espada (larger 2+2 front-engined GT coupe) ? Could always make it a hybrid concept for the sake of relative political correctness.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
