A very, very interesting electric car that could quite possibly tantalize the masses.

Funky! Why do I like it? 'cause it looks Mini-ish?
Its a better looking version of the Mini lol. I do like it very much, finally a Smart that is smart looking and really funky dorry.

It has some near little easter eggs. Check the little fox on the beach chair in the screen.

It’s a good little car but expensive! €48k here for a normally equipped #1 - that’s a lot of money.
I checked the Smart German site, and the price is 48K Euros for the 428PS Brabus edition, which actually for that kind of power and performance (0-100km/h in 3.9sec) is good value. The standard model with 272PS costs 41K Euros, so it seems the Brabus version is the one to go for.

Yes, in Italy you're at circa €52k out the door. Lot of money for a Smart... even with that quality and performance.

The leak from 4 months ago on this same page...

Smart to debut larger #3 model at Shanghai auto show
The Smart #3, a coupe-style full-electric SUV, is larger than the #1. It will be launched in Europe in 2024.

According to information leaked in China at that time, the #3 is about 4,400 mm long, 1,800 mm wide and 1,600 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,785 mm. That makes it similar in size to the Volkswagen ID4, which is 4,584 mm long, 1,852 mm wide and 1,637 mm tall.
Compared to the #1, the #3 is 130 mm longer and sits on a 35 mm longer wheelbase that increases rear legroom.

Review Smart #1.
Early examples of the New Dawn of Smart weren't instantly impressive. We tested the EV hatchback on UK roads

Yes, it really is pronounced 'hashtag one'. The goofy name has a distinct whiff of middle-aged marketing people trying to be with kids. But don't let that put you off, because the new Smart #1 is a pretty good EV.

I'll try to translate Autocar's review in plain English:

The car has 268hp but it's totally sh!t. Well, it's not totally sh!t, but it's a mobility appliance, it's fast and effective and that's all. It looks descent, the materials are fine and you're better off buying a much cheaper MG EV.
