It was recently reported from sources allegedly within AMG that the 2013 SLS Black Series edition will have an uprated 600hp/677Nm engine. This contradicts earlier rumors that it would feature a heavily reworked TURBOCHARGED version of the current engine. I am eager to read your comments, as well as what you would expect the Black would (or should) have up on the current car.

Most important is weighing 300 kg less. Everything else is just extra.

Where they would go to reduce those 300 kilos, that would be the question. A 50-100kg reduction would appear likelier, as they could reduce some insulation materials, no cabin lining, carpets, seats made of thinner padding and no electrical components (or are they already missing?)

As far as color, perhaps a color other than black would make the look interesting, given that there will be plenty of black CF aero components that would nicely contrast in, say, a white or a red car.

I would expect the transmission to feature even crazier-fast shifting algorithms. The wheel/tire package could become more aggressive, as in 335-width rears.

I would like to see the following:

1) Unique bonnett, front bumper, and front fenders with more aggressive (but not over the top) styling. To be made out of carbon fibre perhaps?

2) More muscular bulges in the rear quarter panels, unique rear bumper and a diffuser that truly works. A slightly larger rear wing. And bigger tailpipes of course.

3) Manually adjusted racing seats with a moderate amount of padding for some comfort.

4) Keep all the comfort items such as the air-con, sat-nav, but make the B&O audio system optional.

5) 100kg reduction

6) A unique steering wheel

7) Right-hand Drive of course!

Rumors sugest a 700 hp 5.0 V8 TT engine.

As long it comes with air-conditioning as standard... Please don't take the air-conditioning away!

That engine will likely forego SLS's production cycle. The engine itself is about two years out (in its hyper-hammer variation) and Black Series development has already started. Though we wish as much, new product developments aren't as in sync as they could be: though both the engine and the car are being developed by AMG (and Mercedes), they may be worked on in different parts of the 'shop.'
