It is legal in some juridictions provided the driver and the passenger wear a helmet at all times. Which begs the question:

Personally disgusted by the concept, but the SLR's engine will surely go down in history as being one of the very best. Such a remarkable sound...unforgettable.Oh, and like those McLaren boys didn't know they were being filmed!

Looks like something from another planet or at least something driven by racecar drivers 60+ years ago. This is going to be a stunner and proper send off to the SLR. Here I was thinking they'd bring back the coupe and give it a facelift, NOT.

So I guess the exhaust tips will be moved from underneath the car into those side holes - nice, very SLR orignial like.

I wonder when this will be officially presented. Mercedes is going to run out of autoshows soon: new E-Class and CLK, facelifted R, GL, S, and CL. We're in for a great auto show season this time around. I guess it kicks off with the SL65 BS in Paris.

Such a super-convertible needs a truly efficient heating system for the chilly late fall mornings. Instead of directing the exhausts through the side they should connect the exhaust system with the Airscarf.
