OMG, that looks like the worst crash I've ever seen. It's terrible...Where the hell is the car?

RIP

Planet-F1 forum: Planet-F1 Chat => Polish F1 comentator in hospital

One of the polish F1 commentators(for TV), big fan of cars had an accident yesterday. He had crash in Ferrari car-his passenger died...he is in hospital now fighting for life.

xxxx, just read he crashed at 200 km/h ...
according to one of newspapers..

As far as I know he is in critical but stable condition. Will have at least one more surgery. That car was cut in two pieces and was on fire. But I hope he will survive. Here is his pic together with his father(also F1/race/car commentator):

I hope the passenger wasn't a girl... So Innocent..

First you slide sideways on the grass, looking into a pillar thick as hell..
realising you're going to crash, hard! .. so then when it hits..
It's cut in half, caught fire and it's all smoke and blood allover.. you know it's over if you're not allready dead.. =(

EDIT:
This is the person that did not survive:

He was 30 years and 9 days.
Sport/car journalist from one of polish tabloids-"Super Express".

Local newspaper claims:
Driving at 200km/h in built-up area (50 km/h limit)
with this exact car:

Facts from original article:
  • Driver was Maciej Zientarski
  • Passenger was Jarosław Zabiega (30 years old)
  • Red Ferrari Modena 360 F1
  • Not wearing seat belts
  • Speed has yet to do determined
  • Accident occured around 10 p.m. in a 50 km/h zone
  • Uneven road caused the car to lose control and drive a dozen meters through grass then hitting a part of the underpass
  • Driver is stable after surgery but in critical condition, unconscious with head, spine and leg trauma
  • Passenger died on the spot

It's a miracle that anyone can survive a MVA of that magnatude. Looking at the images it's almost impossible to understand how a human body was not ripped apart from that crash. He has been blessed unlike the other passenger. RIP

These are such stupid vehicles for regular road driving!!!

Not wearing seat belts

When will people learn!

Sounds like he will need a second miracle to survive to the crash. My feelings to the neurosurgeon who would have spent many, many hours rebuilding his spine and skull! Be interesting to know if both were not wearing seat belt or if the survive had his on and the passenger didn't?

I think in a 200km/h crash, the seatbelt will probably slice you into bits during the impact, then again it isn't an excuse not to wear one. At this speed, nothing will work.

The 360 has a reputation of being extremely unstable and edgy at the limit, the driver should have known better and take it easy.

Wow...that is bad. Bad...

It's amazing that anyone survived that. But to not wear a seatbelt is pretty F__king stupid.

with that kind of accident u guys think they will survive with seat belts on?

i sware man youre totally right ali you cant even see the car do u think u can probably see the person?

We're not saying that they would've survived with them on. All we're saying is that it's pretty f__cking stupid to drive as fast as they were going without seatbelts.

I'll say this, if they hadn't hit that pillars and kept on going...a person with a seatbelt would've had an exponentially higher chance to survive then someone without. You can easily be thrown out of a car if you're not wearing a seat belt when it massively decelerates.
