SSC Shelby Supercars' Tuatara - 1,350 Hp is born!

SSC North America (formerly Shelby SuperCars Inc.) is an American automobile manufacturer founded in 1999 by Jerod Shelby. The company is based in Richland, in the Tri-Cities, Washington and specializes in the production of sports cars. Official website: SSC North America
They said Striker's owner "slided through them there."

He did what my friend? I don't understand!🙂

He drove the original white prototype (road legal) way back in 2019! Monticello Raceway from memory. I believe he mentions it in the above interview so that was an age ago!

"The design was then handed off to the team at Podium Engineering, an Italian aerodynamics firm that regularly works with F1 crews, with a goal of reaching a minuscule .280 drag coefficient and, Shelby said, “a balanced downforce from 150 miles an hour all the way through top speed of this vehicle.”

After nearly three years of massaging the design, including the addition of an active rear aero wing, the Podium team succeeded in both goals, notching a .279 drag coefficient (nearly identical to the Polestar 2) and achieving a 37 percent front - 63 percent rear aero balance at speeds exceeding 150 mph.

“We’re extremely proud of the design we ended up with,” Shelby said. “We feel like it's a timeless design that 10 years from now is still going to be cutting edge, and at the same time very safe and stable for high-speed runs.”

The SSC Tuatara had active aerodynamics courtesy of ITALIANS and not just anybody.

I've never told a soul anywhere else on the planet this next bit though- Podium Advanced Technologies MUST have done other work too in three years right? Well they also do homologation for manufacturers. But after the 2020 run what you brung special they went deathly quiet.

I can't prove it, it looks like NDA but neither can anyone state different either.😉

Hennessey will help SSC find the right location 😉 https://www.topgear.com/car-news/su...-average-venom-f5-could-happen-next-12-months

Yes I know of John's plans and a certain Texas Highway. The name and number is buried somewhere I can see if I can find it. Interstate X or something I can't quite remember.

But I do remember reading that article above, they've closed off a highway before and ran a Corvette to over 200MPH, but run the Hennessey Venom GT's on runways?

But I've saved a couple of links on apparent data I'll share later regards the SSC Tuatara.

But if Oliver Webb had driven the SSC Tuatara at Kennedy Space Center the results would've been very different. I think he'd of got 300MPH+ based on the above.

Look what I just literally found! Now this is interesting, well to me but still. Interesting move!

"Knight International is pleased to announce that we have partnered with SSC North America to bring the fastest production cars in the world to the UAE.

An engineer by the name of Jerod Shelby, with a history and passion for cars and racing, founded a supercar company with one goal: design and manufacture an American supercar that would stand up against the European dominated industry of high performance production cars.

Inquire below to find out how Knight International can deliver you SSC speed and style."

Funny because the original in 2011 was shown in Dubai from memory! And deposits were taken. 11 I believe.

Furthermore~

A top speed of 295.0 mph (474.8 km/h) was recorded by data and performance logging firm Racelogic with dual VBOX GNSS systems onboard the Tuatara, as well as a Life Racing GPS unit for additional data acquisition."

I'll comeback to that.

wowInteresting discovery

Interesting discovery!👍

I'll tell you something I have a bit of a knack for it! It comes with years of searching for information! SSC North America don't tell you anything really!

Life Racing UK. SSC North America uses GPS from them and data acquisition but if you investigate the above module number you'll discover a hell of alot more! ECU plus traction control from memory. That's essentially On Board Diagnostics (OBD) a key piece of equipment in homologation and emissions.

Again I've never mentioned it before only because certain "parties", well doesn't matter now.😉

"Chris Muzio from Danzio Performance Engineering created a high-tech package that provides sophisticated traction control, integrating into the transmission for sub-100-millisecond shifts in track mode and ensuring they're matched to peak rpm. "The amount of sensors that we have on that engine is probably four times what I normally put on an engine," Nelson said. This means eleven exhaust gas temperature sensors, four oxygen sensors, and seven pressure sensors measuring manifold pressure, turbo pressure, exhaust turbine pressure."

Chris was responsible for alot of the work.

"This potent V8 is matched to a computerised seven-speed manual. “We’re working with AutoMac in Italy. It’s a robotic system, all hydraulic, with three driving modes: comfort, sport and track.”

The transmission OEM is CIMA but another Italian Engineering concern or outfit was involved~ AutoMac. In fact there's another layer of involvement in the United States of America so when again certain parties were investigating the Nevada incident they didn't in some cases know half of it.🙂

I truly hope we will see a Aggressor this year!

I just asked Kight International and this is their response "Yes, we are planning to bring all 3 SSC models to Dubai Motor City in October/November. "
This is thanks to @Battista's sharing!

Well there you go then! Unbelievable and by the way there's no need to say Thank You!

Because that little piece of work you've done there is as far as I'm aware a World FIRST confirmation. I definitely know what that feels like!

Well done! I think it's time I put or should I say higher up the roster SSC North America, because my stepping back more correctly side, had zero to do with them.🙂

Unfinished Business™. If the SSC Tuatara can do 295MPH in 45.6 seconds using just 2.3 miles, it doesn't take a genius to understand 300MPH is probable and possible.

5.9 Nelsons Racing Engines V8 an incredible unit. But I'll tell you something the F5 V8 is VERY strong too.

So people always ask 320 or 330MPH? I stay quiet because of her aerodynamics advantage, but on the right day anything, properly verified ofcourse with full latencies, is possible.

Well I believe something might occur albeit just rumours.🙂
