September Update Prt One.

What you describe there, could be indeed the worst case scenario, but fact is that the X6 and the 5GT, especially the X6 do sell very well

The X6 was supposed to sell 30.000 per year before the crisis, but in its first full year of sales during the recession it sold 45.000 if I am not mistaken.

Just because some models don't look like they sell good in the US, it doesn't mean that they don't sell at all in the rest of the world.
:t-cheers:

AND that goes in truth to all makes/brands across the globe. That is also why many american cars and trucks sold in the US are not sold in the EU and other countries, shame actually....I would not mind having a Camaro or Mustang in my garage or even the new Dodge Durango for that matter;)
Just can't buy one of the above mentioned in the RSA.

Project-i is about all kinds of mobility , and that covers cars and bikes.
Megacity transport solutions.
We have already shown some ideas of BMW's thinking such as the Electric version of the C1 enclosed scooter and the intentionally named "Clever".

You will see more ideas under Project-i including the two-wheeled variety , they are working on an enclosed two seater bike which takes it's shape and ideas from bikes seen within popular science-fiction.
Such as Tron and the popular Japanese Manga film Akira in which look to rebel character "Kaneda"'s high tech enclosed bike which if you actually look closer it features a BMW roundel amongst other labels on the side.

It looks like exactly what it says it is: MINI Scooter E Concept, debuting in Paris. http://www.facebook.com/MINI#!/MINI?v=wall I guess that means project i isn't limited to BMW cars only, but also includes bikes and even other brands within BMW Group (MINI). It makes me believe project i is huge, and will be exercised through various brands and vehicle types, including MINI Scooter. Scott, is there more BMW Group surprises waiting to be premiered in Paris? I wouldn't even be surprised by a Rolls-Royce Hybrid Concept.

There will be a lot of surprises shown in Paris for the whole BMW Group , they might include and it is something being discussed- the 1M Coupe but it would not be a full reveal , another patch might come off but it would be behind a glass barrier to prevent the curious ripping the velcro pieces off. We have a huge stand to show off our latest innovations and products.

Have you not learnt from the Geneva 2010 fiasco? There you predicted the 1M concept would be shown in all it's glory, but it never materialised. The reasons for the change may have been out of your control, but why not just say nothing, then if it isn't there, no big deal. But if it is, then it's a nice surprise for everyone?

It has to be better than Geneva which was as dull as anything.

Scott, you changed your avatar again... Any chance you can post the image that was your avatar that I was commenting on? Would be much appreciated. Thanks.
