Honestly this is getting out of hand! Now majority of people here want you to stay Scott. So if you leave it would truly be a loss especially for the BMW fans. The information you provide us with is most of the time correct and valued highly by the majority of us. The insight to BMW vehicles and the whole company that both you and EnI have offered is invaluable.

So if some members here aren't full 100 % satisfied with every single one of your posts, it doesn't mean that they don't appreciate your effort here and you shouldn't be offended. In this case most of the people that criticized your post probably just wanted to have more information than just a date and a slogan.

what would you expect if one opens a thread saying - blur the boundaries.
a newbie would be probably banned if he does that. i'm not really in the position to judge and i'm not saying anything against someone, its just that after so long times bmws marketing should know car forums - every forum has their own rules(i'm not talking about that sticky stuff).
i know scott is not stupid, he must had known what reactions people are going give him on "blur boundaries". it was predictable.
but this shouldn't be a reason to stop online creative marketing!


let me go alittle bit into detail what i mean
if one opens a thread, you expect reactions and people are expecting a topic to discuss
but if you don't give them a discussable topic nonsense appears - thats what always happens (try it out on other forums)

but I highly value what Scott and EnI has contributed to this community(please stay)
some people here are just too ignorant and extremist who only think they, themselves are right, so they fail to understand, thus, not appreciating other's opinions.
A discussion forum is a place for us to express our opinions freely. One can judge and criticize, but should never ignore what others have to say. Everyone is just expressing their thoughts and what they know about the topic. Without Scott and EnI and many other great members of this community, we are pretty much a boring forum with little or no inside information as most other forums.
Don't take other's flame too seriously, for, they soon will realize people will ignore them.

Earlier, I said "I am not falling for this BS again".The last time we had a thread similar to this it was titled "Never Stand Still". Frankly that thread was the most retarded thing to ever happen on GCF. From "Never Stand Still" the marketing team started hinting the unveiling of a car with big performance to the unveiling of an M6 CSL. This eventually led to me staying awake till 4 in the morning. watching gigantic balls falling through an hour glass just to see a friggin count down timer detonate to 0.00 with absolutely nothing happening! It was the biggest joke of the century, thus my comment.

Im not going to crack my head with anticipation or waste any more bandwith trying to decode 3 worded riddles, I rather just will till the 5th of November, thank you very much

That's a fair comment BMW Power, and having followed the thread you're referring to, it's quite understandable why you (and other members) felt that way because there was so much hype and anticipation which led to nothing. I don't think anyone's upset at that..... the main point which I think Tycoon was trying to make was that, yes we know you still have a chip on your shoulder after the 'Never Stand Still' thread fiasco, but if all you had to add to this thread was that one-liner, negative and unworthwhile comment of "I am not falling for this BS again", then you should have just kept that to yourself.

There are many members here who contribute very valuable information or provide quality posts....and yes it's inevitable at times that we may not like their opinions/actions/motives, but the wealth of information that Scott has provided on here alone should more than outweigh that one countdown fiasco. It's very annoying and immature reading some members knit-picking about one or two mistakes that a particular member has made, but forgetting all the good things that member has done as well. If you respected Scott enough, you would have had the common decency and maturity to either:

- got over that 'never stand still' fiasco and posted something worthwhile or positive in this thread

..or,

- kept your negative comment to yourself and realise that it would do no good to post such a comment on here.


In simple, your snide remark added no value to this thread or to this forum, ...but what it did add to was the continued frustration that some long-standing members are now feeling about this forum.
All the temper and anger in this thread is not just a result of the comments made in this thread, it's a culmination of many things (as said by Tycoon earlier in this thread)...and some of that frustration is being voiced in this thread.


As much as this is an open community where people can share their ideas and opinions on certain topics... too many members are now typing worthless and immature posts either emphasising their negative opinions without providing a proper reasoning for their opinion.. or they're criticising/flaming other members and their opinions.

You are new here, you didn't gave us any new info about new Z4 and you will judge one of highest rated member, who gave us a lot of informations? If you leave a forum no one would response, because no one knows you. Same for me. But Eni and Scott gave us most of informations we get about new Z4 , 7er , so they are higly ranked memebers.

Of course it matters how many post you have. The core people here are ALWAYS welcoming. Every greeting thread I've seen, we've been nothing but accomodating. But when you come on here and say, oh I'm glad he never comes back.

What you have to understand is that the core of members here have been together for years... since the GCF days (we are talking like 2002). I joined these guys because I was able to get news way before the general public knew. If that's gone, then what the hell is the point of staying here? Give each other pats on the back?

I don't know who you are. What have you contributed in 4 posts? Tine and Scott have provided more than you can imagine.

EnI said some months ago, that he is leaving in September. Now scott seems also to leave.

What has happened ?
Maybe BMW has learned that they can't steer(begeistern ?- hope its the correct english term) us with their current modelplan anymore.
i mean, the reason for creative marketing is to steer people positivly and make them ethusiastic about new models. people should spread the positive word of new models. but the recent months, weren't really positive for the bmw marketing department, they didn't really made us believe in their green movement with M style SUVs.
so would it make sense to continue the marketing stuff, if people aren't believing in it ? thats a question i can't answer.

maybe they need to go back to the drawing board and think again about creative marketing in forums - at the moment it looks as if they have failed, but thats definitly not the case. but they have to think about certain reactions they sometimes "provoc" or how they transport their way of thinking - we are ethusiasts, we want to touch the car, we want to smell the car, we want to hear the car - we are not about marketing sentences that hardly transport a real message

It doesn't matter whether Eni or Scott is telling the truth or not, I like the hear the information anyways. People need to relax and not taking Scott's posts too serious. Be playful and don't be so freaking serious. Make your own decision to believe or not but wanting someone to leave because it not always truth then its you with a problem, not Scott.

As a BMW nut I like to hear BMW ideas and its possible future projects and if it turns out to be true or not , who cares. I wish MB and Audi fans had the same opportunity as us BMW nuts.

Well Andreas i agree that no one should leave but i definitely disagree about everything else u said,truth and credibility is a must when u stand a special position IMO.
