911 (997) Scoop!! 997 Turbo uncovered!!!

The Porsche 997 is the sixth generation of the Porsche 911 sports car. Predecessor: Porsche 911 (996). Successor: Porsche 911 (991). Production: 2004–2013.
I think the major question is what Ferrari and Lambo are going to do to evade this threat. Kickass car :t-cheers:

The more important question is how long do you have to wait between these torque boosts?

Exactly right. You're spot on there Porsche Guy.

SCOOP the 977 Turbo rolling without camo on the street!!

How the hell do I know that? The new bumper, air intakes on the sides and those black rims seen on the other 997 tes mules.

I like the rear but I don't know about those funny little holes in the front, what the hell are they for?

"If you listen, Porsche, have courage: the 997 Turbo doesn't need to have only a few horses more than the 996 Turbo.
Be curageous, forget about marketing, give us a 997 Turbo monster which will shock the competition again for the next five years. This would be the best advertisement ever, no need for stupid ads in magazines.

How do I picture myself the PERFECT 997 Turbo? Simple:
520 HP.
Same weight as 996 Turbo.
Shorter gear ratio (top speed not that important).
Top Speed: 320 kph (should be enough).
0-100 kph: 3.8 seconds
0-200 kph: 11.5 seconds
0-300 kph: 28 seconds
Nordschleife: under 7 min 50 sec
Hockenheim Kleiner Ring: under 1 min 12.5 sec
(street tires)

If you don't offer this 997 Turbo, people will be disappointed. Other options will open up, the 911 Turbo "myth" will loose it's taste of sweetness.
It would be the worst marketing scheme ever.

Thanks for "listening".".... :t-banghea ...They didn't

To be honest Porsche listened. The car does do 0-100km/h in 3.7 seconds and around the ring it is said that it is 10 seconds faster than the 997 S and Porsche has delivered a complete sportscar.

I don't know if this has been posted already, but the new 911 Turbo in on the cover of the March issue of Car and Driver. It has 473hp SAE which likely works out to 480hp DIN. 0-60 is projected at 3.6-3.7 secs and top speed is 193 mph.

One of the most interesting aspects about this car is that the tiptronic version is faster than the manual.

Manual: 0-100km/h in 3.9sec
Tiptronic: 0-100km/h in 3.8sec

The Turbo S which is going to be packing 37hp more will likely do 0-100 in around 3.5 second and maybe even faster withthe help of the dual cluth tranny which is under development. The sad part is that there isn't going to be any 997GT2 which is very understanable since the Turbo and Turbo S are allready speed monsters and it will be disrespectful to CGT owners if Porsche produced a 550hp GT2 which would humiliate and blow the CGT of the roads.

improving 0-100 isnt an easy thing, starts from zero are mostly about grip. The new Turbo's true power will come from 150km/h to the topspeed.

Yeah acceleration is alot about grip and since the 911 has the engine on top of the rear wheels the acceleration becomes insane and the toruq produced by the engine does make thing better :D.

Here are some of the figures which I have found:

680 Nm at 1950-4500/RPM.
630 Nm at 5200/RPM
600 Nm at 1600/RPM

It's a beast. Can't wait to see it drag race against other cars. :t-drive:
