We recently reported that seven time Formula One World Champion, Michael “Schumey” Schumacher helped complete final test stages of the new Ferrari California. With past development involvement with other notable Ferrari cars such as the Enzo and 599 GTB, Schumacher has become a permanent fixture as a Ferrari test driver on and off the track.
Last week Ferrari had exclusively reserved the Nürburgring for testing of a Ferrari 430 Scuderia prototype, and our spy photographer on the scene noticed it was Michael Schumacher driving. Also, as co-driver he had his son, Mick, who seemed to be enjoying some quick laps at the famous Nordschleife.
Our spy photographer states that an hour later the track was closed after an accident was reported by the 430 Scuderia at Schwedenkreutz. Some rumors quickly emerged that its was Michael's son Mick who was driving the vehicle, but this is highly doubtful since Mick is only 9 years old, track conditions were damp, we can clearly see his silhouette in the passenger seat and the F430 Scuderia proto hit the guardrail at 250 km/h (155 mph).
According to Schumacher's spokeswoman Sabine Kehm, "Michael called me and said 'We have crashed the car but are going to continue with another one',"

The Bild ran this as stories across two days, I bought the first one which explained the crash and I didn't bother with the second one because i read that it said Mick was driving clearly impossible.

Sounded quite bad though, at some point i will see if the Bild will fit on my scanner (its all in German ofc).

Thanks for the pictures though :)

Sorry to double post, but i just found this:

From WCF and F1 Live:

Following up on yesterdays Nurburgring photos of the Ferrari F430 Scuderia prototype that crashed with retired seven time Formula One World Champion, Michael Schumacher, at the helm, have been denied by Ferrari.

Ferrari spokesman, Luca Colajanni, strongly asserts that Schumacher was indeed in the car, but as a passenger while road car test driver Raffaele de Simone was driving the car at the time of the crash. "It is normal that test drivers swap seats to compare opinions," he is quoted by Bild newspaper, despite eyewitness reports identifying Schumacher as the actual driver.

These eyewitness reports, although understandable, could easily be misguided since Schumacher was driving the circuit with his son Mick prior to the accident. Closer look of the photos published yesterday confirm Mick as a passenger by showing the silhouette of a young boy in the passenger seat.

Ferrari Says Schumacher Not the Driver of Crashed F430 Prototype

Interesting, even though the interview was with Bild.

Sure does'nt look like that car hit the Armcos at 250 km/h... touched it maybe :D

I'm not sure if Schumi was infact driving the car. Even if he was, everyone is acting like he can't make a mistake or something. It's pretty stupid. Honestly, this just proves that he is human, unlike some idiots who treat him like a god or something.
