S-Class (W220/C215) Saying Goodbye to the C215 Mercedes-Benz CL

The Mercedes-Benz W220 is the fourth generation S-Class range of flagship sedans. Compared to its predecessor, the W220 had somewhat smaller exterior dimensions but offered greater interior volume, particularly in the long-wheelbase versions, and slightly less cargo volume. Alongside the W220, the second generation of the CL-Class used the C215-chassis designation and was manufactured and marketed as the company's flagship two-door/four-passenger coupé. It replaced the W140/C140 S-Class. Production: September 1998 – July 20, 2005.

Not sure what to expect with the new one, but whatever happens this CL will be missed big time.

This is most likely my favorite aspect of the current CL, this elegant roofline.

The view most other cars get of the CL65 AMG!

My, what nice shoes you have.

I've only felt this way about 2 other Benzes when it came time to replace them, the W124 and R129.

Oh Merc1....you sentimental old thing.

Cheer up my good friend, I'm certain the new one will still have that roofline atleast :usa7uh:

I hope so. I'll just die if they mess up the CL!

such a nice car.. it really is disturbing to see a car like the W220 S this CL and the SL .. go out of production... a very sad thing.... imo the CL still looks fresher than its competition..
So please for gods sake give us a equally good looking CL.. if not i will die to.. :D

I might die too....................but probably not :D

Do you think guys, you are being a bit overly dramatic?

LOL i guess so.. but it will indeed be very very disturbing if the new Cl doesent look good.. not only for me but for everyone..

We can only wait but the spy pictures look promising!

If the new S is anything to go by, I won't be very happy if they turn it into a really bland car!

I`m going to miss the currant CL to. The sweeping lines and tapered C-Pillar
are unique. I`m more than sure the next generation will evolve that formula. I
believe it will be more of a sporty design than the currant one.

really liked this car from day one on, I've heard folks say this car is "ugly", "looks like a Lincoln", and so on. I think it's truly great, though it kinda wore on me after while, still a great design. Looking forward to the C216.

All the worrying we did on this thread and as we now see there was no need to worry!!!!

LOL...

I really liked C215, I'm not sad because of the end of production, I will see it on the roads. To me, the new gen. doesn't look that good as the C215, though, I'm sure it will grow on me!
