Z Series Saw the Z4 @ Dealer....

The BMW Z models are a line of roadsters manufactured by German automaker BMW. The Z stands for Zukunft (German for future), and has been produced in four different series with six generations consisting of roadster, coupé, sports car, and concept variants. The introduction of the M Coupé and M Roadster in the Z3 line marked the first of the Z series to have a high-performance BMW M variant. The first generation Z4 also continued to offer M Coupé and M Roadster variants. The current Z4 (G29) uses BMW's (B58B30) inline-six, its platform is the basis for the current Toyota Supra.

Human

You. The Road. Nothing else.
I saw the new Z4 at my local dealer yesterday! GEEZ!!!!

I am going to take this oppertunity to congratulate Mr. Van Hooydonk and the BMW AG Design team for creating a car the captures the essence of the BMW brand in a perfect piece of art! The agressive front end is the best execution yet of 'THAT ESSENCE' sooo Shark like, and that is what people expect from the BMW design language....no 'soft' design treatment would do! The design in its purest form becomes a BMW in perfect balance and makes one feel PROUD to be a BMW enthusiast and owner....
TO ALL in this forum who may have contacts to THE people at BMW, PLEASE! Send my thanx to the people involved with the BMW Z4...SIMPLY STUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Thank you BMW & Personal. :t-cheers:

BEST YET IN....
'THE POWERFUL PRESENCE SO CHARACTERISTIC OF A BMW'!!!!!!

No doubt, it's a looker. Unfortunately, most reviews are not as kind regarding the driving experience......too bad.:eusa_thin

I do understand your feelings & enthusiasm, however...

If you were looking for a stiff uncomfortable car like the previous Z4 then yes. The current car is more for everyday use and more comfortable. It's the same story as the E46 M3 vs E92 M3. Same complaints in the beginning, but the E92 M3 proved to be a fantastic car.

I have driven the previous Z4 and Z3 BTW and didn't consider them stiff and uncomfortable. BMW already offers "more" comfortable, albeit larger, convertibles. I think BMW 2 seaters should be more sport driving oriented, just my $.02. Maybe the Z2 fills that gap, has to be quick though.

Well I have not driven it yet...but I have no doubt in my mind that the new Z4 would be impressive to drive. Sharp steering & handeling is a BMW trademark and the test engineers at BMW would not compromise on that. It may be a different experience but could not be a bad one at all! The car is soo stunning in the looks department...typical motoring journalist would find something to complain about, though they are HARDLY correct.

I've seen the new Z4 on the road here twice and it doesn't do anything for me I'm afraid to say. There is no doubt in my mind that it is a great car but design-wise it could pass for a facelifted last-generation Z4. Probably right now the X5 and new Z4 are the cars that least excite me from BMW.

Too funny Human.

You state that you haven't driven it yet but those "typical motoring journalists" who have, "are HARDLY correct". BTW, those "typical motoring journalists" are regularly criticized for having a BMW bias.

So although I agree that the new Z4 is a beautiful car, easy on that punch until you do drive one.:usa7uh:
