So it won’t be just the VLS Maybach coming up?AFAIK yes.
There’s much more to come.

I understand you own a Maybach, or am I mistaken? What did you tell them when they asked? "We want a bespoke?"Yes I am sure, Maybach drivers were asked what they expect from future models in 2025.
I’d say medium to long term.
There's a feeling that something's brewing regarding Alpina that could be related to competition in that particuar "sector", since historically these two companies have a history of "I see it, I want it."
Someone more informed than me already answered me exactly like that: you'll see it soon enough.More recent innuendo (small bits and pieces picked up in the media here and there + a bit of AI supported research) is focusing on a speculated "non-SUV" concept vehicle that will be a large, luxurious "Gran Touring" segment design exercise. More likely 4 doored rather than 2 doored, it will be the first example of an all-new, exclusively "Missoni supervised" vehicle. Not explicitly extremely reduced and rigidly minimalistic, but more in line with a form of unadultrated "flow following function". Presentation...? Pebble Beach probably too early. L.A. Auto Show 2026 at the very earliest, I suspect.
Perhaps forum members who may be privy but certain that they are not violating an NDA could drop a very brief "B.S. !" or "we'll see soon enough." comment

Anyway, going from asking to actually doing it might not happen, but it would be excellent if they followed through. That's a lot of orders lol, I would have just asked for something bespoke in the order of concept 6 so as not to "overwhelm" themThat’s right.
I told them the following points.
Bespoke Body for the GLS Maybach but with Mercedes Benz design language.
As @SilverArrows said people buy Maybach because they don’t want to be seen in a Rolls Royce ( I am one of them BTW) because they’re too flashy.
No more black plastic trim, it feels too cheap for these cars.
More color options, that’s something they already addressed with the S-Class Mopf, I’d like to be able to choose both colors individually on the 2 tone paint.
Possibly to choose the headliner, dashboard, the Threads, stitching, and colors individually, as the colors in 2 tone interiors.
Different buttons, same design but with an other surface, in the original Maybach they used wood on the steering wheel for example. Or the possibility to configure different surfaces of the buttons.
They should keep the sunroof or build another big convertible/coupe.
More applications of the V12 ( well in Europe they did the opposite, but who knows what happens on the long term).
Less screens, 2 screens are more than enough.
Add the G to the Maybach lineup and build an ultra comfy G-Class with 20cm more wheelbase.
I’d also like to see Airmatic for an easier entry.
They wanted as much details as possible. That's a lot of orders lol, I would have just asked for something bespoke in the order of concept 6 so as not to "overwhelm" them
If so i suggest you tell them :They wanted as much details as possible.
AFAIK all Customers in Europe were asked.
They want to expand Maybach.
But because the Maybach EQS wasn’t very successful ( the feedback on that car was devastating BTW).
They now want to know what the customers want.
True, but what will the future of vehicle interiors look like if screens are tacky & no screens at all is…outdated?I really hope that the future S-Class of 2030 will bring a breath of fresh air in terms of interiors, enough with this horrible full-dash screen, I already said it, it looks like a smartphone placed horizontally
Bastian Baudy should think about it, after all he gets a lot of money for doing his job.....True, but what will the future of vehicle interiors look like if screens are tacky & no screens at all is…outdated?![]()
I could imagine it’ll be both. A pilar to pilar screen and a must more classic approach, void of screens or at the very least reduced to an absolute minimum.I really hope that the future S-Class of 2030 will bring a breath of fresh air in terms of interiors, enough with this horrible full-dash screen, I already said it, it looks like a smartphone placed horizontally
Bentley Flying Spur with a screen that can be hidden with a push on a button.True, but what will the future of vehicle interiors look like if screens are tacky & no screens at all is…outdated?![]()
Will do so.If so i suggest you tell them :
-Make a new Bespoke Limo that is a successor to the Maybach 62.
-Bespoke SUV that is Escalade sized with a V12, Coach doors.
People will PAY for these.
I agree it depends from the color.
They‘re one or two steps less flashy without two-tone paint.
People see the Mercedes Benz Star and think it’s a tarted up Mercedes Benz, instead of ultra luxurious car like a Bentley or Rolls Royce.
It’s like 911 Turbo S which is basically still only a souped up 911.
So y’all are saying Maybach is not as flashy as RR and Bentley? Interesting. All 3 of them are VERY flashy cars imo, especially if they’re specced with two-tone paints or vibrant colors.
Most maybachs I've seen are just Silver or Black though. Presumably because the clientele want something a bit more subtle.
