It’s pretty weird how you guys are downplaying the Maybach & the Bentley. All of a sudden nothing competes with the Ghost?

This is not a Phantom gentlemen😂

The Ghost is a V12 saloon built on the same scalable architecture as other Rolls-Royces. The Maybach is a trim level for an S350d that is sold with a 6 cylinder engine and uses the same platform as 'lesser' cars in Mercedes line-up. Bentley is somewhere in between since it utilises VW group assets, but the cars themselves aren't derivatives of much more mundane vehicles. Simply, Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley are not the same.

That said, a fully personalised Phantom is clearly a league above the Ghost.

I positioned in my head like this;

Tier A - S Class vs BMW 7 vs Audi A8 (prefer S)
Tier B -Maybach vs Flying Spur (prefer FS Mulliner)
Tier C - Ghost
Tier B - Phantom

Simply Rolls Royce and Bugatti is for me separate league w/o direct rivals. How it's made, how it looks, and the price tag.

I'd agree with Dopebuoy here. The Ghost is a clear step down from the Phantom.
Nope, gotta disagree. Can’t even compare the blinged up S-Class to a Ghost. It’s just inferior in pretty much every aspect.
And both Bentley and RR have better quality interiors.

No one is downplaying the Maybach. You’re just biased, and a little delusional, lol.

It’s straight fanboy bullshit. Of course these cars compete for buyers. The only one that truly stands alone is the Phantom. At 600k onwards it truly stand above.

Having sat in different cars in this class I agree.

Compared to Rolls Royce, Bentley and Maybach are much more sophisticated regarding technology.

Rolls Royce is a bit old school TBH.

V12 engine, air suspension without high tech, you can’t configure the car like an BMW M.

There’s one setting for the suspension and 2 for the drivetrain, but you can’t configure it to your tastes.

As Harry Metcalfe always bemoaned in his videos.

Bentley and Maybach are different animals, both have this dual character, Dr. Jekyll and Mr.Hyde.

I’m simply having a hard time believing that someone with a $500k + budget would consider getting a Maybach. Putting the blinged up S-Class on the same level as Rolls-Royce is just funny to me. Perhaps to a certain point it’s understandable with Bentley but not RR.
But yeah, go ahead and call it fanboy (!) bullshit.

Yep that’s exactly what it is. Outside of the Phantom.

A Ghost isn’t typically 500K either.

People buy the Rolls Royce because of the image( being the most expensive luxury car) or to be driven in, If they want the best drivers car, the Bentley is the one to go.

Even If they were the same price I’d always prefer the Bentayga to the Cullinan.

The Maybach is the underdog, the E-ABC is the best suspension on the market, nothing comes close.

The leather quality ( If you tick the right boxes on the Maybach) is on par with Bentley and Rolls Royce but the switchgear feels cheaper, I have to admit that.

Unfortunately the current S680 V12 is not available with this suspension, because this car has no 48V system.

The biggest advantage of the Rolls Royce is IMHO the availability of the V12.

Very different approaches to luxury. I don’t know the exact specifications but I believe Maybach is the most technologically advanced out of the 3. (correct me if I’m wrong though)
RR on the other hand is all about craftsmanship and artistry, followed by other internal / technical stuff. That would place the Bentley somewhere in the middle I guess.

You can configure, you're simply listening to people that are too poor to configure.
I mean the driving modes.

There are no driving modes for the suspension and only 2 for the drivetrain.

I know that you can configure the color inside, outside, headliner, and so on.

Exactly like that. (y)🏆

I fully agree with you about that. 🏆
