S-Class (W224) [Rumors] 2030 Mercedes-Benz S-Class W224 (Spy pics & info)

The Mercedes-Benz W224 is projected to be the eight generation of the S‑Class full-size luxury sedan. It will replace the S‑Class (W223). Expected to debut in 2030. Production: 2030- (estimated)
Nothing will ever look as modern or futuristic as the concept vehicle it's based on, unfortunately.

I know right? At one point I hoped the i3 was going to look like this:

At one point I was even discussing the kind of lighting tech Hella would be using for this grille we see here......LMAO.
Just concept vaporware in the end. Very vaguely resembling an i3 at best, and only because of the similar grille.

Thing is the S-class hasn’t grown in size for 3 generations, hence im curious.
That is incorrect. Both the W222 and the W223 have grown in size compared to their predecessors.

The short wheelbase W223 is virtually the same length as the V126 long wheelbase model (5179mm vs 5160mm). So there has been a huge increase in size of the S-class models over the years.

I was quite surprised when Mercedes mentioned the size of the new C-class EV at 4.88m x 1.89m x 1.50m it is only 50mm shorter than my W213 E-class and wider and taller. The next E-class EV I reckon will probably be close to 5.05m long x 1.93m x 1.50m to put it on an equal footing with the G60 i5.

According to who?
So you want this upcoming E-class EQ to end up being as big as the S-class instead? So that there is no difference between the two? im pretty sure if the C EQ is almost 4.9m & the W214 E-class is 4.96m, the E-class EQ is gonna be 5.1m
.of which that’s the S-class’s SizeđŸ€·â€â™‚ïž

Tell me if i don’t have a point.

5.3 meters at max is totally fine. Something more than 5.5 is just too damn big. That would make the Maybach version literally 6 meters long.

Given that Mercedes is currently looking for cost savings, perhaps they'll look fondly at the 5.39m of the 7 Series, which offers a single intermediate option and monumental savings across the board by avoiding two versions.
The Maybach Version should be 5.7 meters. It is a Rolls-Royce Ghost competitor afterall.
It isn't; it's a competitor to Bentley.

A nearly circa 5100mm long and 1940mm wide E-Class EQ (quite possible) will see all the more S-Class customers migrating to the E-Class. Here in Europe in any case.

This is also a fairly good strategy.

So the Flying Spur doesn’t compete with the Ghost anymore? That’s new to me🙃

Exactly what i was saying. It doesn’t make sense for the S-class to stay roughly the same size anymore, it needs to grow bigger because the E-class caught up, Even LWB E-class is 5.09 meters longđŸ€·â€â™‚ïž.

Actually, such an S-Class would make little sense at all here in Europe. An ostentatious presentation of huge dimensions, excess and glitz, which the future W/V224 S-Class may very well be, is very rarely in isolated cases on the shortlist of more mature affluent potential customers. Upper executive/lower luxury segment sedans will be more than suitable for the very most shopping in this segment.

Do the G70, Rolls Ghost & Flying Spur have problems manoeuvring in Europe?

Do the G70, Rolls Ghost & Flying Spur have problems manoeuvring in Europe?

Asia (foremostly China and South Korea) and the U.S. are the largest by far markets for the BMW G70 7er.
As of yet, the Rolls Royce Ghost and Bentley Flying Spur navigate a far more exclusive market than the comparitively "pedestrian" S-Class or 7er. In Europe, the greater London area appears to be the unit sales epicenter. But the largest markets are, here too, Asia (foremostely China) and the U.S.
