I think that image is fake. You need 5 min. in PS to do that. This is what I did in 2 min.

Yes, that render is unwanted child of x1 and 5 doors 1 series

That would make sense, the Auto-moto shots at best would be leaked shots of the production vehicle, since what we will see tomorrow is going to be a "Concept" X2, I doubt the production car shots would be leaked this far in advance.

Amen to that, i was seriously expecting this to be a good surprise, it would seriously suck if it turns out being a lowered X1

Probably purely for the concept - which will either change in production or the X1 might gain them in LCI.

More of a crossover than an out and out SUV (I do hear what you're saying though) and when you look at the market direction it does appear that the crossover is increasingly encroaching on traditional hatchback, sedan and - yes - even pukka SUV sales.
