So.

We've all seen it. The Audi RS5 is a huge disapointment when it comes to handling. It's quick in the straight, but not as quick as it should be. Far away from the glory of the RS4 B7 and it doesnt get any good grades in test.

It makes you wonder, if the S5 Coupé with the new 3.0T light V6 engine and almost as good performance (4.9 sec to 100km/h for 4.6 for RS5).

Is the RS5 worth the money?

What would be your choice?

Right now I'm thinking a stassis ecu upgrade on the S5 would be a better choice, but the RS5 is so damn sexy. Can't forget the sound of the v8. Also living in the states would make it a rare find which only adds to it's appeal.

Def the RS5 at this point. S5 didn't make much of an impression on me during a recent test drive, and now it has the V6? No thanks, RS5 please.

S5 for three simple reasons.

Cost: it's considerably cheaper to buy and run yet still looks like a full blown performance coupe.
Performance: up to 110mph the S5 isn't a million miles away from that of the RS5 and with a very simple chip it can be made to be as quick without affecting it's average fuel consumption.
Handling: away from the race track I think anyone would be hard pressed to feel or even notice the differences between the handling of these two, especially it the S5 has the trick diff and adaptive suspension.

But if you were needing rear space then look else where, probably M3 is a better bet or if the rear will never be used then consider a TTRS because it's quicker than both of them and as equally as special an engine to that of the RS5 with all the fuel benefits of the S5 and more.

If I'm paying S5+mods. If someone else's paying the RS5 and then mods. :D

I heard an Audi RS4 given the beans the other day, there's no substitute for that V8 sound, just isn't...
