What a waste of half a million dollars...some people have too much money.

On the other hand..the Veyron is even more stupid...that's a waste of a whopping 1.5 mil....DUMBASS. As some internet nerds would like to say.

"THAT IS TEH SCUK!!!!!1111":D

Were you just sarcastic or you really think so?

No, I'm serious Tyc -- don't get me wrong though, I really like the Phantom, and I think BMW have saved Rolls-Royce from certain death, they have taken what was becoming a sad and irrelevant relic from the past ..and turned it into something very exciting, bold, and amazing.

The thing is though, the new Phantom is not designed for the same market as the old Phantoms. The old Phantoms were designed for a world that no longer really exists, the world of the British aristocracy. The buyers of the new Phantom are more likely to be self-made entrepreneurs, bankers, and celebrities. I cannot even imagine Queen Elizabeth ever owning the new Phantom -- it's too showy, not particularly elegant, and just too darn vulgar.

This old 1960s Phantom V (below) was designed for a clientèle who inhabited a rarefied and highly cultured world that no longer really exists.

I completely misunderstood you, man, sorry...:eusa_doh: I thought that you don't like the current Phantom at all, wich would probably be 1st time ever that i hear something like that from you...:usa7uh:

No I really like it ...I have said many times how much I like the Phantom. All I am saying is it is not like the old Phantoms

The Phantom VI was the last Rolls-Royce designed specifically for Royalty, Heads of State, and the most noble aristocrats. They were bought by people who lived extremely formal lives.

The rest of the Rolls-Royce production cars in the 70s, 80s, and 90s were mostly bought by successful business people and celebrities -- the biggest market was in the US -- particularly California. The new Phantom is also targeted at this latter group -- there really is almost no market for a limousine like the old Phantoms anymore, that high-culture world of truly aristocratic taste is so small today.

Agreed!

Which car makers do you think, in this day and age, build for these people who still live extremely formal lives?

i think it is rather nice for a day if you go to a party or something :D and then the next day you have somebody to remove it
