"With the Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100 we were very mindful not to dwell on the past. We wanted to be as innovative as possible and at the same time transcend the design history of the brand."

Giles Taylor
Design Director Rolls-Royce Motor Cars

THE VISION.
At a point in time when the world’s design studios are envisaging solutions to mobility questions posed by ever cleverer technologies, the Rolls-Royce Vision Vehicle provides a brief glimpse into a fast-arriving luxury future. Art and beauty can work with science in defining a truly luxurious Rolls-Royce tailored to… your every desire.

#1 Effortless Journey.
As a logical continuation of its own core values, the Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100 is a driverless car, but not a chauffeur-less one. In the long tradition of the best chauffeurs in the world, this ‘digital chauffeur’ discreetly fades from view whilst continuing to monitor and inhabit every aspect of the vehicle and catering to every whim of its owner.

#2 Grand Sanctuary.
For its passengers, the interior of the Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100 provides a ‘Grand Sanctuary’, the ultimate retreat, silent and luxurious, comprising the most exquisite materials and forms. In response to its owner’s desire it offers either total connectivity to the outside world, or absolute privacy.

#3 Grand Arrival.
Absolute elegance and confidence. In keeping with the tradition of the marque, the Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100 embodies sheer grandeur and serves its owner in spectacular new ways. The vehicle design promises ‘A Grand Arrival’.

#4 Personal Vision.
Innovative manufacturing technologies will enable customers to involve themselves in the style and proportion of their personal Rolls-Royce vision. They will be able to commission their very own cars shaped by Rolls-Royce designers to their personal tastes - unique bespoke masterpieces curated as a fingerprint of their owner.

So, according to the press release...

"The interior of the Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100 will be a private retreat, a “Grand Sanctuary” in which a virtual assistant, “Eleanor”, not only drives the vehicle but also fulfils the customer’s every wish throughout the journey. "

My every wish? I could see my girlfriend getting the hump with Eleanor ;) :D

The buzz around RR 103EX (Vision Next 100) is already SENSATIONAL! Much more interest than in BMW Vision Next 100, and MINI Vision Next 100.

IMHO RR 103EX will as much talked as it was BMW GINA LVM in 2008 (and beyond).

This looks downright weird to me...Wonder how much acid it would take me to envision a car like this

I don't think they took any acid at all. The car is radical because over the next 50 years, the car, as we know it, will radically change the same way that banking is nothing like it was 15 years ago - think online banking, apps, kiosk machines and Paypal.

Anyone born in 2016, will unlikely have or need a driving license when they turn 18. In 10-50 years, cars won't just be autonomous but electric and potentially steering wheel-less which will give us freedom to rethink seating arrangement, storage and everything else.

I can envision Rolls-Royce seating the passengers at the front, and have rear seats/compartment for the butler to sit and be at the service of the owner.

This is a gorgeous concept with very tasteful homage to 1930s Rolls-Royce Phantom.

IMHO it's a very ballsy concept ... All three of them, actually.

Very much ahead of their time - but not fictional at all. I'd like to know what Chris (Bangle) would say about those Visions. IMHO he would be very proud.

Bonkers? I don't think so. It sure looks alien in 2016 but I can easily imagine such cars in the roads in 20, 30, 40 years.

103EX ... It may be weird but the aesthetics of the details is phenomenal & spot on! And when adding all the details in to a whole - it gives you an odd but still incredibly aesthetic design (master)piece.

This Concept will win quite some design awards, be sure. And will be talked much in the design circles.

What's interesting is the announcement of the modular construction - which would allow much more elaborate bespoke program as seen today, not limited to trim, materials & colors only etc. And the mentioning of "the patrons" - who a ready to spend tens of millions to get their very bespoke RR. And they will get it.

Btw, I hope BMW Group "installs" all 3 Visions in some upcoming big movie.

Where have you read that? I didn't see it in the press release.

So in the future everyone will be going to places in their couch with wheels.

So in the future everyone will be going to places in their couch with wheels ...

... and with smartTV. Yes, basically.

Btw, I just love how much emphasis RR engineers, marketeers & designers have put on ... GRAND ARRIVAL. That's so core-to-the-bone Rolls-Royce ... not just about grand ride but even more about grand arrival. Here I go, here I come, here I AM.

Incredible concept, the wtfness i felt reached new heights, but it's classy wtfness, this reminds me of the dark knight comics somehow. I cant believe rolls did it. Anyway I think it should have its own thread.

Any hints about the upcoming SUV in this thing?
