Rolls-Royce Second EV Spotted (Cullinan sized EV)

It also appears that precise, geometrically rigid razor-edged body sheetmetal is finding an increasing number of fans.
Several years ago I commented that it was a trend that was coming and that it would be the desirable thing today; BMW already defined it with the 7 series and the 5 series quite some time ago, somewhat pioneering the issue

That’s appealing. All the attributes of the current Cullinan brought up to date.

That's much more consistent with the spy photos; I also suspect it will be even more modern than that.
I hope so the spy shots don’t exactly elude to a beautiful shape but we’ll see, Rolls Royces are about the details after all.

Cool feature with the new electric SUV, a split opening “frunk”

It will likely sell better than the spectre. Also being an EV. It should do well for fleet sales to hotels and vip services.

Yeah agreed. It's more suited for EV being an SUV. I can definitely see a use for this EV SUV in cities like London, Paris and dense urban areas as a luxury workhorse.
The Spectre however is a full blown weekend nice weather feel good car, and a V12 is much more needed there.

So concerning this funk.......I guess this is where the 5er Touring and X5 split tailgate budget went to lol

The Spectre has been a "Spec"tacular flop, unfortunately. Folks buying Rolls-Royce's in large don't care to take a part in saving the planet overall. It'll do better as a more utilitarian vehicle, but a ICE model is needed in the product roadmap going into the 2030's.

Not a flop at all; quite the opposite, the first year they thought a success would be selling 600 Spectre and they sold almost 2,000 and last year it was the second best-selling Rolls-Royce car after the Cullinan, even surpassing the Ghost, which is a 4-door ICE sedan.

When I think of a Rolls Royce driver/rider, usually its not 600+ km trips that come to my mind, and even an ICE with its V12 will burn through the fuel on such distances. Whats the issue with EV in this case?

Residual value curve versus ICE variant. 24-25 Spectre’s with $500k plus MSRP range are reselling slowly in $300k range with little mileage. It’s a tough one pill to swallow for the people buying RRs outright.

Don’t get me wrong, conceptually a BEV RRs for utter smoothness and efficiency makes perfect sense, but I’ve heard a number of perspective clientele in the US and GCC markets saying they would’ve preferred if the Spectre had a V12 offering also that they are used to the Ghost/Phantom/Cullinan. I’m glad to hear that worldwide, sales expectations are being exceeded as opposed to some individual markets.

I'm surprised they haven't done a black badge. The trim is very popular amongst owners who drive the cars themselves.

The depreciation is not unique to the Spectre. Even the Phantom, V12 front engines Ferraris and even Astons depreciate to those levels.

Demand for the Wraith, Dawn and Spectre is/was a fairly steep downhill slope once the initial must-have-the-new-thing crowd have bought their examples. It wouldn't surprise me if that was reflected in the second hand market.
