For a small company Rodin are pretty industrious, they've just released a new Project.

I'm looking at you Praga, here's a small company form the arse end of the world who has designed their own engine and gearbox.

It helps that this small company has a very wealthy (close to a billionaire according to reports) founder.

Nice to have some updates after a full year of the prototype running, but honestly, there still seems to be a LOT to do and things are moving at their typical glacial pace.

I also get that this is the first prototype, but a lot of stuff on there looks pretty "shed-like". The RB17 looked a lot more professional even in just its show car guise. It's cool that they have their own factory, foundry, race track, etc, but that doesn't at all mean that the stuff that they produce will be better - in fact, it will almost certainly be worse because you are starting from scratch and competing with companies that have been doing it for decades.

Still, it's always nice to have more cars to look at and analyze. Even if it might take another few years for it to be finished.

Summary of the new info from the video:

- they're gonna build a mk.II version with revised aero and less overall downforce
(~3,000 kg at 300 kph = ~2,083 kg at 250 kph)
- more downforce-heavy floor
- different front fenders with less frontal area
- rear lower wishbones will move above the diffuser
- power: 1,500 hp at 10k rpm
- weight target remains at 698 kg
- this production version might also drop DRS element of the rear wing
- simulation software shows mk.II being about 7s faster per lap vs Red Bull RB20 on Albert Park Circuit

Presumably, this is a model of FZero mk.II:

And some screenshots of mk.I, since we haven't seen this HDF package before:

It's a car built in a multi-million dollar shed :)
RB17 is more sophisticated, while FZero seems unconstrained but at the same time very simple.

I'm curious about the final version of RB17, since what they've shown us was also an old concept.
