I am absolutely creaming myself over this car. The interior is gorgeous. I want one, I can't wait till it comes here.

I actually hope they make a single motor RWD version. When I had rental Model 3, I had both versions, the single motor RWD one and the dual motor AWD one. Sure the dual motor was incredibly quick, but the RWD one so much more fun. The steering, like all Teslas, was horrible, but between the the stiff chassis and immediate drivetrain, it was lot of fun to drive. So yea, if Rivian makes 300+ HP, 300+ mile range RWD hot hatch, it would be awesome.

I still don't understand the enormously false market capitalization that these "inflated" companies (Rivian and Lucid) have. They only sell in the USA and Polestar only in Europe, and they are a commercial disaster in the rest of the world and financially also in their native markets.

I still don't understand the enormously false market capitalization that these "inflated" companies (Rivian and Lucid) have.

They have alot of US government support because they can't let US automotive industry die and be dominated by chinese imports.

Perhaps a saving grace for Rivian are the shareholders (Amazon estimated 20%, Volkswagen AG currently estimated at approx. 9 % and rumoured to be very interested in significantly expanding that stake). Also noteworthy: Although Rivian is not yet an active player in the military defence/armament systems sector, that could conceivably change. In the process of Germany seriously getting its armed forces back up to par, Rivian could cooperate with MAN Rheinmetall, which has close affiliations with VAG.

But as for Lucid and Polestar...???
