Sports RIP Kobe

RIP Kobe :(

Today was a really tough day. Cancelled all my plans due to the sadness. He lost his life whilst completing his duties of being an exemplary father.

As a lifelong NBA fan, this really hurts. I can’t even watch basketball right now.

Thank you Kobe for being a top role model of excellence and passion. May you and your daughter rest in eternal peace.

He was one month younger than me. Wasn’t his fan (since he demolished every team in his path), but what a bloody legend!

Life is fragile. Go pick up the phone and talk to someone who you have not spoken to in a while. Put your egos aside and mend fences with your loved ones. You never know when it all ends.

Stop and smell the roses

God speed brother ——

P.S. This one hurts as much as Robin Williams and Steve Jobs

I can only imagine what he was going through as the helicopter was going down and his daughter was there. RIP to all those who were on board the other family lost a father , a mother and daughter. Such accidents remind you that life is very short.

Total shock and dismay. I was at brunch and the entire place came to stand still when the alerts came over everyone's phone. Unbelievable.

Like a damn punch in the gut!

rip

PS
I’ve said from day one that helicopters aren’t meant to fly. I avoid them at all costs!

If Princes Diana had worn a seatbelt she would have survived, if Kobe had driven a car to his daughters game like most people he wouldn’t have died. You make your choices and life happens.

Come on, what an unnecessary and uncouth post.

Well yes, but how is that relevant to this thread? Bringing up the possibility of different permutations/ combinations that can alter the result has no bearing to reality; unless you have invented some sort of time travel or have access to a multiverse where the outcome is different and can be replicated in our reality.

Meh I’m just not interested in celebrity deaths, I didn’t expect this forum out of all the...

If you're not interested then why bother participating in the thread? It's not like this is the first time a celebrity death has been mentioned; there's a RIP Prince thread here too.

What a very stange post. Not to mention you completely contradict yourself. You say "life happens", yet you seem sure that had he driven he wouldn't have died (and that Diana would have survived had she been wearing a seatbelt, which again, you have no way of knowing other than that she would have had a greater chance of survival).

I used to think people on this forum were a bit harsh on you, but with posts like this I see their point. Not because I am particularly touched by Bryant's death, but the sheer idiocy of your logic that it's Bryant's fault for flying in a helicopter. You just come across as an idiot. Way to lose what little credibility you had left.

Well if you daddy wiped you off in the sheets instead of sending you into your mother you wouldn’t be here. Life just f#cking happens don’t it?

How far was his journey, brainiac? You don't know do you? Well, I've just discovered he was flying from Irvine to Thousand Oaks, which is a journey from the far South of the LA Metro area to the North West corner. By car this is an 80 mile journey, and based on my own experience it would take 3 hours or more. So, hardly a ridiculous choice to take a helicopter for those lucky enough to be able to afford it.

A comment like before is not worth the effort responding in detail with sense.
