3 Series (E90) Reviews - BMW 3 Series: Ultimate Best-Selling Driving Machine


The fifth generation of the BMW 3 Series range of compact executive cars is designated under the model codes E90 (saloon), E91 (estate, marketed as 'Touring'), E92 (coupé) and E93 (convertible). The model was produced by BMW until October 2013 and is often collectively referred to as the E90, E9x, or occasionally, the E92. It was succeeded by the F30/F31 3 Series, and the F32/F33 4 Series. DETROIT -- In a couple of recent posts, I indicated that the top-three best-selling European models in the U.S. are Volkswagen Jetta, Passat, and BMW 3 Series. I had two of the right cars, but the order should be BMW 3 Series, then VW Jetta. Two Mercedes and two BMW products now outsell the Passat. A couple of my L.A.-based colleagues corrected me on this.
