Bronco [Renders] Ford Bronco renderings 2020

I simply love these funky SWB S (with the emphasis on UTILITY)Vs. The new Landrover Defender leaves me impressed. I suspect that the Bronco will do the same.

Good to see you @Beemer B773ER :) still following NASCAR? :D

Hahaha, I never left, I'm always lurking, just haven't had much to really say. And yes, I still watch NASCAR every week, but also keep up on F1, IMSA and WEC to a certain extent.

As to your question, no, I don't think the Bronco resurrection will last more than this one generation even in the SUV-hungry U.S. market. .... unless they can get O.J. Simpson to do some commercials for it.

The new Ford Bronco... time to getaway!
The new Ford Bronco... no responsibilities!
The new Ford Bronco... leave your troubles behind!
The new Ford Bronco... give it a trial!

:) I should've mentioned that I still see you from time to time, but I didn't have the chance to chat with you lately...

It's awesome that you still keep up with watching motorsports (y) I'm kinda upset that I'm missing most of the races because I'm busy with many things to the point that I'm only following BTCC and DTM, where I used to also follow Blancpain GT, GT Open, Super GT, WEC, IMSA WSC, and even used to watch Formula 2 and Euro F3. I was able to follow Blancpain Euro GT4 which was fun and competitive.

Somehow I miss being more active (where I used to do some ranting as well :D:LOL:) on the sportscars thread.

I think that it depends on how Ford will market it, and if the company is willing to give it a family range in order to challenge the Wrangler. A single variant will be a niche that, just like you mentioned, doesn't usually last more than one generation. I don't know exactly why the FJ Cruiser didn't last more than a single generation, but it's possible that the retro effect faded after some time, along with a lack of updates, such as body variants, trims or engines, which caused the car to become forgotten.

.... unless they can get O.J. Simpson to do some commercials for it.

I never expected that :ROFLMAO:

I don't think the Bronco will do much to the Jeep either. Even if it's better on paper, it just doesn't have the brand equity & culture to compete with the Wrangler. Yes the Bronco as a well-known nameplate, but much the same way that the Dodge Challenger has this culture & following even though it's a very aged product compared to the latest Camaro...
Do you not think that Wrangler buyers would welcome an alternative? Customisation and marketing will make a break this car as the OJ Simpsons associations are strong!

People will walk into dealerships asking "Does it come in white?"

I wonder what the highway gas mileage will be.... and if they can somehow disable the GPS tracking.

I think the Wrangler buyers will be even more enamored & loyal to the Jeep brand because there is now competition, especially from a brand that they likely don't consider genuine. Jeep and Dodge have built their following by portray an brand image of going against the establishment, going their own, taking the road less traveled, being adventurous and certainly not vanilla. A lot of marketing dollars can be thrown to give the Bronco nameplate that image, but no amount of dineros can do that for Ford. I'm not saying it'll be a complete flop, but I don't think it'll garner genuine fans or steal many from Jeep.
