I'm not convinced about that... I say one thing at a time... first normal BMWs get turbo and then we'll see what happens to ///M. But to be honest, I doub that's gonna happen because theres just too much history with M cars being high revving NA engines.

And things change.

Tine, I'm really clinging to your words here!!!

I really don't like that philososphy. Like I said, we'll see. I hope BMW does change that in order to better compete with its competitors. If they do it will be pretty funny because Benz and Audi will have recently switched to N/A performance engines and all of the sudden BMW has a turbo charger.

If you read the thread i had a link to its pretty funny that they are not even considering super charging.

BMW have said that they will stick to N/I to M cars as long as possible. However, The new V10 for M5 was very expensive to develop, most expensive M engine they ever built. So maybe the next engine for M5 will cost even more then its possible that Turbo will come to M as well. I hope it takes very long time before we see a Turbo charged M.

I think the whole thing is about costs.

It's exactly the same thing as when they tried to rename the 3er Coupe the 4er... that went down well right? Sometimes it's about heritage. As long as ///M can keep up with the competition (which is is, even outdoing as it is right now), there will not be a turbo I think. As of now, I don't think we've reached the ceiling of possibilities when it comes to NA engines.

Another example when the 911 went from aircooled to watercooled... it caused a huge uproar. Don't expect anything less if ///M started using turbos.

Step by step, guys. It's almost here. A 3er coupe with a VTT engine. :D

So is it a twin turbo or is it a single turbo with two turbines?? Any talk about performance yet?/

Just for the record.. When M goes FI.. then it will be the greatest thing ever.. until that to hell with FI.. NA ALLL THE WAAAAAY...

Dont you agree with me bmw boys :D

Ive always been pro turbo and anti super charger. I have always been for turbos over N/A engines and N/A engines over super chargers.

LOL.. i belive you.. until M comes with a supercharged engine :D j/k
