Just a thought.
Can anyone tell me why Marques like Mercedes and BMW are not more involved with the Rallying scene?
They both produce good 4x4 cars and excellent road cars so why not combine the 2 and show Citroen, Ford et al what its all about.
Anyone else feel the same?

Neither Audi, Porsche, MB and BMW seem to be interested in Rally these days.
I guess costs and curent involvment in F1 and touring series are the reason.

Well, Audi has the Le Mans. That's their "market" now. And maybe the F1 in the future.

And they have Skoda in Rally, so it's the same "group" you know.

well i think both Mercedes and BMW do not have the right cars for rallying, plus rallying does not suit their brand image. The Citroen C4 and the Ford Focus are the right sized cars for rallying. Bigger cars such as the Pegeout 307 was never competitive in rallying because it was too long. I don't think an A class will be any good at rallying, and the 1 series are way too tight inside to put all the roll cages in.
