R8 R8 FULL LED headlights

he LED headlights featured on all new Audi models has become very much part of their front end signature styling, without them, it just wouldn't been an Audi. Recent models including the R8, TT, A4 and A3 have featured the daytime running lights but now the German's have gone one step further by introducing the first full-LED headlamp which will be available first on none-other than the R8.

The 54 high-performance LED lights provide lighting for both daytime and night-time driving and represents the pinnacles of Audi's lighting strategy. LED technology uses less power and other road users doesn't get those glaring bright spots in their eyes as with conventional lighting systems.
Audi first presented the full-LED headlamps in the Nuvolari quattro concept back at the Geneva Motor Show in 2003 and joins the line of technologies incorporated into the R8 along with the aluminium Audi Space Frame, ceramic brakes and the mid-mounted V8 engine with FSI technology.
The new option is available immediately and comes at a whopping price of €3,590.

Been waiting for these for ages! These will look fantastic I'm sure. Pretty soon, xenons will become the norm and LEDs the new trend. Pretty hefty price, but xenons started like this too...

€3,590? thanks, no thanks! It doesn't look much better than normal headlights. Get the CF engine bay instead.

If you buy such a car you need all the extras som FULL LED Headlights is a must!
I will laugh at all the R8 I see without this option (after people was of course able to choose it from the extraslist)
pr. today I laugh at alle the R8's I see without the full Carbon package!

With these options, the R8 will cost around €180.000. Absolutely crazy for such a car with such an old weak engine.
M3 with DCT is just as fast (and around €80.000 cheaper)

BTW, is it full LED as in no Xenon anymore???? If so, meh.....Xenon >>>> LED

€180,000? For the V8 R8?

It's full LED yes, no xenon any more, the LED's are obviously superior to the xenons that's why they command such a hefty price. They look bluer too, which I personally am not a fan of, but some people are.
