R-Class R-Class Facelift

The Mercedes-Benz R-Class (W251) is a mid-size luxury MPV introduced by Mercedes-Benz in 2005 for the 2006 model year. The R-Class shared its platform with the M-Class (W164) and GL-Class (X164) and was available in two wheelbase lengths: standard 2,980 mm (117.3 in) and long 3,215 mm (126.6 in).
I'm not sure there really was a facelift...there was the AMG package (made standard) and a new steering wheel, as well as an upgraded diesel engine. To me, that doesn't qualify as a facelift; more like MY changes.

The FL looks much more modern, toned down, and more mainstream instead of quirky.

Yeah it kinda was, but they made more changes than what they usually do for just model year to model year changes.

it looks like giant B class :D

WOW i am scared to say this but that looks quite HOT actaully.
I saw a R the other day in ehite i actually think the side and rear look good just that front which is bit hideous..Well if MB can do a decent interior and this it should definately help...

It looks a hell of a lot better.......just not so much compared to the 5er GT. This thing here still looks like a Vito.

Well i suppose their will be simalaraties to a vito as they both in the MPV or peopel carrier market i dont think the 5er GT is anywhere near in terms off market to a R class.

The 5gt is probably competing witha 5 wagon or a X5..

Well, the 5 GT is BMW's answer to the R-klasse. Without the R, we wouldn't have had the 5er GT....MB leads the way ;)

This looks to be potentially HOT though :D

It really does. I hope they don't AMG it this time. That was a bad mistake before. I guess Mercedes-Benz sales this go round as see if the R-class is worth keeping.

Taste differ and IMO...I never thought that the current R-Class was ugly nor bad looking!

The facelift though looks like a Sprinter/Vito - comercialized :eusa_thin

I think it looks good and takes a little of the goofy look it had away, though I have always been a fan of the R.

Exactly as Huckfeld showed us. By the way, notice that the SLK that appears in one shot has the full rearlights on it for the very first time.

^^^^^ Good eye! Didn't notice the SLK, and surprised we don't have any new SLK spy pics!

OK, so when, and why such a delay for a facelift.
The 2010 brochures are out here in the US, and they show the same ole R. This test car shows virtually no camo.

I have a feeling that Mercedes is gearing up for a big product push at either the L.A. or Detroit show. The revised CL/S Coupe, facelifted R, C, and E-Class Cabrio will all be presented real soon. The Maybach facelift is pending also.

^Exciting times at MB! I think Maybach is on hold. Would be nice to hear something concerning Maybach soon. I think Mercedes is concentrating on Mercedes. Smart and Maybach have to wait in line. I'm guess the R-class will be an 2011 model then.
