Today I´ve in a friend´s party, and I´ve seen he had in the garage a 96 528i in dark green, so, remembering our beautiful 523i I´ve told him "Hey please, let me do a quick test, just 10 minutes". The car was purchased by his grandfather and is full equiped. It has electric seats with memory in the driver´s seat, automatic gearbox, beige leather, tempomat... So many extras for a car made up un 1996.
The interior was just old, the leather has aged, and it could have been in better conditions, or at least it would have been if it was my car, but I still have liked it. When Iñve started the engine, the sound has surprised me for the worse, I remember how good our 523i used to sound, and this 528i just doesn´t sound as good, don´t understand why at all.
The gearbox is one of those ancient gearbox with the P R N D S 3 2 positions, but it is good for such an old car. the car drives smoothly and quietly, it´s far from being sporty. in fact, the ride is quite similar to our E 320 CDI, very gently.
I´ve had a great time with the car, but afterall it´s a very old car, and has nothing to do with current BMW models, but it has been good to make me remember how much I did like that car.
PD: No pics as there were cervezas everywhere and I forgot my mobile don´t know exactly where, sorry guys.
