Project -i : Herausforderndes Coventional Denken (Defying Conventional thinking)

I would say that my predecessor was more passionate , remember T was old school BMW. He was with the company when they were playing second fiddle to Mercedes-Benz , So to see and to contribute where BMW has progressed to the no 1 Premium luxury manufacturer is a bit of a personal victory not just for one but many of the BMW personel from that era.

He was extremely passionate regarding the 5er Gran Turismo to which some say a mistake in which T would argue the benefits and positives of the Concept.
Who would have known that in the search for premium comfort that the designers and marketing people visted some of the worlds top end lounges and bars from Munich to Dubai in their quest . To you and me its just a couch in a room but they wanted to incorporate the premium and luxury feeling associated with these interiors in a new concept of car.
The work T has produced with the 5er GT is interesting to see the least because he has made the car out to be a Premium luxury toy something you must have , like a piece of art , architecture or indeed couture.

I have no intention of arguing and forcing opinion. I will let the cars do that eventually.

Well, I'm looking forward to what you bring to the table...err, I mean this website. LOL

BTW, New Scott, I'm not sure if you have access to the PM's I sent to Old Scott, but if you do, can you please read the last few I sent and either reply to me or forward (or remind) the old Scott about them. I would really appreciate that. :t-cheers:

SCOTT = Special Communication Operations, Tools & Tactics

27 = team's internal code within the department

Crap, Eni...aren't you taking all this way too seriously?
You used to say Scott was his name because of Star Trek or something like that, and now you come up with all these abbrivations and trademarks? Too....far.....

Maybe even, Scott is a she? Scottrina?

It's just a move to clear some "mysteries".
To make SCOTT work more transparent.

:usa7uh:

****

Scott from Star Trek? :happy001:
You mean Montgomery Scott - The "Beam me up, Scotty" guy played by James M. Doohan ? :D

This fellow? :

No, no, no, no ...

Perhaps you got such impression due to Scott's avatar: featuring Captain Zapp Branningan from Futurama series?

Why captain Zapp ... Since Scott (the man behind) is the "captain". And Zapp is one interesting character. :usa7uh:

OK, enough. On topic, please. Project -i, 1er coupe, Z2 etc.

so the z2 comes .Do the z8 and the M version of the z8 come too or not???

No. Currently we are focused on Project-i and Efficient Dynamics as our main strategy and the exciting projects developed from this programme. A competition has begun in relation to a next generation Concept CS model and there are many opportunities to consider a range of variants.
However after the initial run out of Project-i as compact urban transport solutions.
BMW plan to enter the next phase of Project-i with a larger premium Concept model to showcase BMW's and Project-i's relevance in the future.

so the old CS Concept has been scratched off and a new one will take its place?

If that's the case, then we're looking at 6-7 years before it can be released.

The Idea behind the current (Concept CS) has been reinvented to fit within the BMW 6er - So the production car you will see of the stillborn CS Concept will be the 6er GT , The outline is similar but the size and details have been shrunk and expanded.

It is right to consider a replacement for the future and after the initial Project-i concepts enter the market , we have to think of our premium segments so there is a current discussion ongoing of having a Concept that is born from Project-i but relates to BMW's premium products interms of size , substance and premium image.

It's all a question of does a car the size of a 7er be relevant in the future?
Can it be substantial?, equally powerful? and what would be it's source of power? It's interesting because when given this brief the designers can really use their imagination and expand their creativity.

Scott the info you posted is awsome. Thanks. Question though. The twin turbo engines mentioned, will they debut in the Z2 or will we see them in earlier models, cos they sound very tasty and can't wait.

Now this has got me even more excited for the 6er. I need to make that money quick so I can buy one. :t-cheers:

I'm sure your internal research will provide a case for a future 7er. I don't think that segment is going anywhere. As for the power source, I think BMW is on the right track about the Hydrogen 7, and Honda's FCX Clarity has kind of opened that opportunity even more. The only problem right now is the Distribution system of Hydrogen as well as Crash structure of the hydrogen tank, the former more important than the latter since Hydrogen 7 and FCX Clarity's structure is quite resolute.

I read somewhere that the F10 5er will launch with the new 2.0 TT I4 engines. One with 204 hp and one with around 250 hp......not sure if this is true or not...

That one with 250hp might be very tasty - both economical yet with enough performance for some fun.

Yeah :D Well, I didn't know who Scotty exactly was anymore, but I was way off there, lol :laugh2:

Wasn't he Scott26 at Carspyshots?

Different teams for different operations ... Not all are visible & exposed.

Usually #26, #27 & #28 cover specific internet communications (eg. forums).

:t-cheers:

^ Our previous Scott was the same guy that decided not to go to CarSpyShots anymore.

Btw, Has anyone thought about the posibility of having a GT7 M now that Scott comfirmed there will be a M version of the GT6?, What engine would they use? V12 TT?.

From the beginning of SCOTT operation the current "agent" is already the fourth one. So, CCS featured 3 "Scotts", GCF only 2 (incl the new one).

OK, let's not talk about SCOTT ... the agenda is about BMW Group, not Scott. :t-cheers:
