There are a lot of people here that know a thing or two about designs and I wanted to ask you folks, are the designs of Astons getting a bit long in the tooth? Porsches have looked almost somewhat the same but their styling is purposeful. Astons designs are well...the same. I wanted to get other people's opinions on the designs of these two cars. :)

I think Aston's mostly look remarkable. In fact, the only Aston I don't like is that IMO nasty looking 4-Door Coupe which is the most "modern" and heaviest departure from the normal Aston bloodline.

Porsche is great, but Aston Martin is the God of beautiful designs with perfect proportions.

Aston Martin look perfect, but I would like to see something new. Maybe I have this feeling not because the design is overplayed, I don't think it is so, but because they are lacking in terms of performance, they are still quite heavy and not enough powerfull, but I know they are not meant to perform as a Porsche or a Ferrari.

Porsche have always been an 'acquired taste' while Aston Martins have become more flashy. I love Porsche for their understated look, maybe it is because I like to blend in and not stand out. Aston Martin cars just say look at me cause I look good, kinda like a sexy and beautiful woman with not much going for her while Porsche has the power and brains.

IMO, the Panamera and Cayenne are about the ugliest cars to ever came out of Germany. The Cayman also looks bad in my book, but I've great expectation from the upcoming model as the Boxter looks very good. The 911 is a masterpiece.

On the other hand, I think Aston are about the nicest cars on the roads today, so it's clear which brand design I like the best.

Regards

IMO Porsche's design is timeless and as mod9 said:

Aston's design is pushing the envelope of perfection and masters desirability perfectly. ASTON'ishing!
