Panamera Porsche cranks out 10,000th Panamera after just three months on sale

The Porsche Panamera has only been on sale in other parts of the world for three months now, but the automaker has already cranked out the 10,000th production example. The Panamera is built on the same production line as the Cayenne SUV at Porsche's Liepzig plant in northeastern Germany.

So far, Porsche has taken some 9,000 orders for the new five-door grand touring hatchback and it has yet to go on sale in the United States. Porsche is currently planning to build about 20,000 Panamera units annually at the Liepzig factory. The 10,000th car? A silver Turbo destined for Singapore.

I am glad to see it is selling well, I do not want this model to die out as the great 928 did.

Although I must admit that I am somewhat concerned that it may be selling too well, since that may reduce motivation to add a diesel model to the lineup, especially if the factory is near capacity.

Great mark indeed for a car like Panamera! And still people say, we're going through global economic crisis! :t-hands:

That silver turbo looks fantastic in that photo!

Imo, the white in the background looks even better! A hot car that looks cool like ice at the mean time! :usa7uh:

Astonishing. I had no idea the car would be such an easy sell. Now watch the number point even higher when the Hybrid is introduced along the new Cayenne at the Geneva autoshow.

This is the natural step forward compared to the Cayenne - which was a major hit - this car caters the same needs, only without the social stigma (who would like to be caught dead in a SUV today?).
