A virtually pointless question IMO, the Porsche is in a different league.

The SLR is an expensive toy for playboys and celebrities to get noticed in, and to be seen in "all the right places" with.

The CGT, is a car for people who are serious about performance and technology and are more interested in getting the car out on the track to see "what it can do".

May Karl and Gottlieb forgive me, but I have to vote for the car that pulls at the heartstrings the most - the Carrera GT.

The SLR as much as I like it doesn't really compare to the Carrera GT at what a car a of this class is supposed to be - a track star.

Though I think the comparison is little bit unfair because the SLR was supposed to be the ultimate GT that can also "run" with supercars. Not exactly apples to apples imo.

That said the Carrera GT is my favorite supercar out of the current bunch, that bunch consisting of the Enzo/SLR/Carrera GT. Now from what all I've read and seen about the Zonda I think it would exceed the Porsche if I could just see it in person. That way I'm back in Mercedes' good graces, the Zonda does use AMG power...

Then there is the CLK DTM AMG to further complicate things. That is the car Mercedes should have marketed as a Enzo/Carrera GT competitor.

You have asked me that question before - you know the answer.

I guess the difference is I'm not so blind that I can't tell the difference between something excellent (like the SLR), and something extraordinary (the CGT).

Eventhough these cars are expensive they are quite different. This is like comparing a SL500 with a 911 S. The SLR is an ultra fast GT car which is more of a poser car rather than one you take to a track. The Porsche on the other hand is a full blooded super sports car with signigifantly stiffer suspension than the SLR. Well enought will the bullshit, a black Carrera GT for me.

I'm sorry to say Artist, but the interior of the Porsche has so much class. It has a simple counsole with a very simple wooden shift knob...the car is just so unbelievably beautiful. The interior of the Zonda, I must say, is like a bunch of materiales just stuck in various places. I love the performance figures of the Zonda though.
