Carrera GT Porsche Carrera GT Picture Thread

The Porsche Carrera GT (Project Code 980) is a mid-engine sports car that was manufactured by Porsche from 2003 to 2006.

Kingdom is the right word! CGT is king on Nordschleife!

Only acording to SportAuto. Some magazine achieved a new Nurburgring record on the Zonda F.
Also CGT looks great in black, red doesn't fit it IMO. But the best looking Porsche for me will remain the 904.

which turned out not to be true.

Pagani claimed that Zonda F did a better laptime than CGT when Sportauto and horst tested the Zonda F around the ring. When the issue came out it turned out to not me true, it was close but not close enough. CGT still hold the officiall record.

Great news. :)

Yeah, you're right. I think that lap time of 7:33 was slipped into 7:32 by Pagani, it does sound better after all. ;) Obviously they are very close but the Carrera is still the king. 7:32/7:33/7:34/7:35 and etc are all pretty close, so their are no true losers.

^pagani never claimed the record.. a pagani dealer called Autodrome Cannes claimed it..

and for the other the ZOnda F tested on the Ring was not the Clubsport..
so atleast i belive that the CS can close that gap pretty easily:D

The Autodrome-Cannes did sy that Sport Auto had lapped the Zonda F in 7:32, another dealer in Sweden ( Von Braun Sports cars) also claimed it. The information had slipped into EVO magazine one month and at Geneva 2006 Pagani had "7:32" as the Offical Nurburgring time. The story has traveled, again though, 7:32/7:33/7:34 is no difference at all :usa7uh:

The ClubSport should do, and i'm guessing 7:30. The Zonda F was also run on a cold track so that could have slowed it down a bit too.

LOL the Zonda mafia did quick replys :D

CGT also faster around Hockenheim than Zonda F

Porsche Carrera GT ------------------------------------- 1.08,6 min
Pagani Zonda F ---------------------------------------- 1:10.8 min

Hey! ;) I'm supporting the Carrera GT. But to answer the Hockenheim question: (Christian already saw this answer on another forum)

It's probably driving Zonda fans crazy but here's the simple fact.

On a larger track the Zonda F has a better chance but in the hands of a professional driver on a small, twisty track like Hockenheim the Carrera GT is the winner. It's the same story for the CCR which should easily have the performance advantage on the track due to the fact it is has 806 PS. However It can't beat it, from what Ajzhan had translated oringally of the Zonda article, Sport Auto said it was very hard to keep the Zonda's rear end in check.

"The performances were measured with disengaged ASR. A Wingcar, he is sucks herself the Pagani Zonda F in high speed firmly on the street. Yet in low speed, one must go around without ASR very carefully with the accelerator, revolves otherwise the Zonda F quickly once." It goes on to say the Zonda F lost because of this and it doesn't surprise me.

Why? Well we can start by saying the Zonda F has 760Nm (561lb-ft) of torque at 4,000 rpm compared to the Carrera GT with 590Nm (435lb-ft) at 5,750 rpm. The Carrera GT has a the edge here and it's the same story for the Koenigsegg, only a certain amount of power can actually be delievered to the road before you're going sideways.

But if we must ;) :) The Zonda outbrakes the Carrera GT from 200 km/h-0, 100 km/h-0 cold or hot, it has a faster slalom on both the 18metre and 36 metre, has more grip and a faster evasive .. :D Seriously though, both the Carrera GT and Zonda F are amazing, oh and the CCR ;)

Having finally seen one myself, including the engine compartment, I have gained some new appreciation for the car. It is really nice. Would take it over any Italian any day, all day long. After seeing one, the pictures look better too....

I used to think that Porsche must have designed the car to compete with the Italians, and selling out some of the traditional Porsche design elements in the process. Having seen it, it is a German Porsche, no doubt about it.
