Carrera GT Porsche Carrera GT Picture Thread

The Porsche Carrera GT (Project Code 980) is a mid-engine sports car that was manufactured by Porsche from 2003 to 2006.
I really loved this car. It was just that Bruce, pure engineering brilliance. Somehow I feel the car didn't get the props it deserved.

^so nice..i really hope porsche makes a new hyper car someday.. SOON:D

Not necessary, the CGT is still standing tall on Sport Auto's list of lap times. :D So the CEOs at Porsche are sleeping very good at night. It close to 5 years old but still looks better than any of the other mid engined cars in the VAG/PAG concern. Without a question the one of the best super cars built inside and out. Porsche hit everything right with this car. Bow down in the presence of greatness.

well it was allready matched by a older car ( cough zonda cough)
but lets not diss the cgt its a god amongst cars..

given that a new generation of supercars is on the way..
i think porsche once agains should be in that race to show all how its done..

Sure it might be matched by the Zonda F but not trashed, which doesn't justify the need for a new super car...........yet. Ferrari and Lamborghini need sometime to catch up. :D

The car is really state of the art. The engine was meant to sit under the hood of a LeMans car and the entire frame and body is nothing but space age technology. I think we all should give the Cayenne a round of applause because without its success the CGT would probably have not seen day light. :D

Let's hope that the Panamera will be a killer success so that Porsche can once again shock with world with something they never could have imagined.

Well Ferrari will be in the center of the game in max two year time when they reveal Enzo's successor so does Pagani with their new hypercar so Porsche needs to do something soon as Artist said.As for Lamborghini, well it's out of this game since the onwer Audi only allows for cars that goes with the likes of F430 and 599GTB but not a hyper car.

The new breed of super cars are probably not more than 2-4 years away. Don't known if Porsche will be in it but I certainly hope so. Even if they aren't it cool, they don't have to prove themselves. With the CGT they showed the world that that they know how to properly build a mid engine car.

It's very expensive though, especially if you want to build the best car possible. Lots or research dollars right there. It's tricky to know if Porsche has that money to play around with right now, they have already spent over a billion Euro on the Panamera and they've got their hands ful preparing the next gen Cayenne and 928.

Well porsche for sure doesn't need to prove that they can built awesome hypercars but the pride of Germany will bleed when Ferrari and Pagani ruling that segment with no rival from Germany,MB will soon attack with SLR's successor but it'll be front engined hyper GT so Porsche has to do something:D

I know Porsche is being drained by the Panamera and new Cayenne ect but they for sure won't start from a scratch, they learned alot for CGT experience which can save them lots of money to spend on an entirely new R&D required for building such cars and hey they almost bought VW those folks got money:D

The roads/scenery in that last pic look exactly like the ones from the first official press release pics when the CGT was first unveiled.
