Love the looks, not really liking the hybrid drivetrain. Nothing can beat the Carreari GT V10 (except the LFA V10 ).

Yes and no. I think the front of the Carrera GT looks much better than the 918. But the back of the 918 is much better than the Carrera GT....

Hmmmm....I think I really have to get used to not seeing a proper hood shutline from the A pillar towards the headlights. It's such a big, empty space on the 918.

Sunny, haha I sent him an email and he is a very nice guy. Obviously he can't say anything... The only thing he said was that the GT3 will get a great (new) transmission. We have to wait until mid September for more infos to leak on both 918 and GT3. In the meantime I'll keep asking away haha

So I actually got a response to my sequential transmission question! A little vague but nonetheless understandable. The new GT3 won't get a sequential transmission. I'm now certain about that. My guess is a reworked PDK.

Porsche's 918 Spyder is no secret--in fact, it's a bit of a camera whore. But we're fine with that--it's a stunner, and it's crazy fast, too. How crazy fast? How about a Nürburgring Nordschleife lap time of 7 minutes, 14 seconds.

Yep, that's the official word from Porsche as of just a few minutes ago. The images posted along with the announcement show a Martini-liveried car doing its dirty work.

For reference, a 7:14 lap is not only faster than its own target of 7:22, but faster than the Corvette ZR1, faster than the Nissan GT-R, as fast as the Lexus LFA, and nearly as fast as the very track-oriented Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR--in a hybrid that could be good for up to 78 mpg. It's not clear if the time was set with or without the rumored track package.

Yeah, we can get behind that.
