Looks like you guy's haven't seen Hussein's tutorial!
The techniques used in such illustrations are super easy, it's the drawing skill that is required. Hence why it takes amazing artists to create the best illustrations, like Hussein and Vlad for example.

A tip is to use the pen tool for highlights, works wonders!

Another tip is for the reflections in the floor. Very few people do these exceptionally well. Vlad is one of them.
Be discrete, and a little bit of gaussian blur can improve it as well. Try slight distortions as well, obviously it depends on the image.
