The year is soon over and there been a lot of great cars this year. What sportcar had the biggest impact on you.

Please explain your reasons.

I think I'll go with the BMW M5. I know, very predictable to but hear me out. Not many car has generated such crazy reviews as the M5 did... every car magazine has praised its V10 powerplant. They put this car in comparison to the F430 for godsake. This car will surely become a classic and is the epithome of ///M Power.

My other considerations were the Corvette (definitely an underdog that has surpassed everyone's expectation) and the F430 (possibly one of the best Ferraris ever made)

But when I read the title of the thread, I thought you could pick anycar. If that was so, it would be the E90 330i. It was easily the most important model launch of the year for any manufacturer. This is hands down the car I most want for Christmas

M6 or Z06...

I guess Z06 then... took over the sports car world by storm, an dno one expected such performance.

M5/M6 we all knew was going ot kick ass, but Z06 was an awakening giant.

I think that the M5 is more appropriate because it was the car that started the Bmw's V10 hype. Besides, most magazines I've read said that as excellent as the M6, they'd rather get the M5 and save 20,000 pounds.

Hmm no S-Class, maybe because its not out around the world yet. I voted 997. M5 would be my second choice.

Zonda F..no doubt.. it has killed everything on the road.. and being a small manufacturer car makes it even more impressive..

Hey Just Me, do you think it would be a good idea if we made a "Car of the year" for different segments of the market? This seems to be sports car only.
We can even do a concept car of the year? I don't want to hijack your idea so that's why I asked.

i voted m5 sure it may not be as fast as the pagini but it sure is fast and luxurious all wraped up into one package. The m5 has been able to run with some very fast cars and the great thing about it is that you can change the setting of this car from race to more comfort all by the touch of the button while all the rest of these cars are more race orientated or comphy besides the cls. I also think that the v10 in this car is just perfect. If i was to choose one of these cars it would have to be the m5 or maybe the bugatti just becaues that car is awsome

Hmmm...since there is no S-class maybe 997 or Zonda F (both perfection). Honorable mention would go to RS4 or the M5.

the list just confuses me but i voted the cls 55 , if the m6 was on the list it would have been a hard choice ....

I voted the Veyron. Simply a marvel of human engineering and without doubt one of the most ostentatious, vulgar, and ultimately legendary cars on the road.

i voted for the cls because its the only car i have driven bettween all the cars on the list ...
2nd ,,, the looks...

1. My vote goes to M5. Why?

It doesnt happen very often there is a new M5 in town. 7 years for a new M5.
I think its the most hyped car of the year. Everyone were talking about it, before and after the release. Carmags seem to love comparing with not so similar cars as the M5.

- The sales is very good, better than BMW expected.
- First 4-door-saloon with V10 and 7 gears.
- Engine of the year award 2005, in several categories
- its a car you either hate or love
- It offers performance but the same time its practical, comfortable and great for everyday-use.

2. Z06 - its a cheap car that offer a lot of performance. Faster than cars that cost twice the price.

3. F 430 - great improvement from 360. Great sound and looks very good
4. Veyron - fastest car in the world
5. Porsche 997 - Im still waiting for the Turbo
6. Zonda F - fastest car around Nordschleife
7. RS4 - instead of turbo, RS4 now goes high-reeving
8. Ford GT - Its a classic but a improved one
9. Aston Martin V8 - baby Aston, still waiting for a light version
10. CLS 55 -Its the same engine as E55, its a intresting shape but not as exciting car as E55 when it came a couple of years ago
