Being a huge fan of the 90's generation of supercars, this is by no MEANS easy choice. First and foremost, it's clear that the F40 is one of the most defining supercars ever assembled. It's status and popularity has easily earned it status as a legend. It looks amazing, and bet it is everywhere as good to drive as they say it is, but it all seems too raw for my tastes. Feel the same about the Diablo SV (look the intensity of the design though) and the Viper if I'm honest.

The F50 is an amazing sports car (with some revolutionary items; for instance, the engine which with it's small displacement takes use of five valves per cylinder), but I could never appreciate it's exterior.

Maranello's a great car, although I've always felt build assembly could have been better. Will pass here. The EB110 is a very interesting vehicle, but it in my opinion, has aged terribly here. Love the XJ220 to bits...but I don't think I could drive a vehicle with a length figure of 202 inches 'round town. One of the longest cars ever built.

That leaves with us with two of the most technologically advanced vehicles ever built. Even by today's standards, they stand out as brilliant works of technical art. The 959 is just too tempting! Particulary the understated style of it...In the end though, there can only be one. As the McLaren F1 ages and we continue to creep into an industry age where dreams (if you know what I mean) are deemed unacceptable, my appreciation for the F1 grows. Murrary's dream of creating an uncomprising road car remains as one of the best automotive stories ever told.

McLaren F1 and even if you add modern day supercars to the list, my choice would still be McLaren F1. After that, it is a toss up between F40 and 959, but I will probably go with 959.

McLaren F1 without a doubt. It was the best car of the last century. Hell, it can still hold it's own today.

I'll take a F1-LM with my own color choice please, thank you.

F1 either way for me, followed by the F40 and then the 959. The rest sucks, and I am very glad that period is over :D

Really? I really miss this period. I think there was some of the finest and purest automobiles imaginable this 1986-1998 period. Now we have so many garbage supercars with no soul coming and going and never remembered lacking spirit. I mean sure during this time Ferrari some may argue, made way to many cars that nobody really cared for, but I ultimately think the F40 and F50 always remain classics. :usa7uh:

I don't agree with you, there are MANY cars that have a lot of passion now. Just to name a few: Zonda, Koenigsegg, CarreraGT, Murcielago, Gallardo, F430, etc. :usa7uh:

Carrera GT has some serious passion most definitely agree. Pagani Zonda, the S and F models again it can't be argued here, they sound and feel better than anything ever produced. How awesome and complete the feeling would be if the Zonda package even had an engine made by them instead of borrowing from AMG. But the others I don't know so much about passion. Enzo doesn't really belong here either, it just feels like a race car. Yes indeed the CGT and Zonda F really do bring the classic retro passionate feel for their cars. In this category I can also add 997 GT3 Mk2, F430S and Viper ACR. :t-drive:

It's the same with the McLaren F1, the car that is winning this poll by a huge margin; the F1 'borrowed' the engine from BMW, just like the Zonda is doing now with the Merc engine.
Enzo is ugly, but prettier and much better than F50 and modern day cars like the LP670, 430 Scuderia, 997 GT2 and even GTR V-spec are to me just way more awesome than the '90s cars....those interiors from that time in particular have aged badly...

I was just about to point out the same thing. McLaren was the body maker while BMW supplied the powerplant, just like how Pagani is the body maker and Merc supplies the powerplant.

That's so true, I completely forgot to think about that compromise factor in the McLaren F1. So in that respect Zonda is at the same level as a McLaren F1. And in terms of specialty and passion the McLaren is pretty much at the same level of an Enzo and a F40. :usa7uh:

I would put the Zonda above all in the specialty factor simply because of the fact that unlike Ferrari and McLaren who have been in motorsports for YEARS, the Zonda came out of nowhere. Pagani's credit is the fact that he was designing this car while he was working for Lamborghini and that Fangio was his friend. :t-cheers:

McLaren F1 without thinking twice.
Second choice is the F40.

I don't care that much for the others to be honest.

My all-time favourite among supercars is the Porsche Carrera GT, the second is the McLaren F1, the third is the Pagani Zonda.

Voted for the 1997 Ferrari 550 Maranello! Love this car…looks fabulous…
