German tuning powerhouse Hamann and Automobile DS & Auto Werke give the BMW X5 M50d a makeover. Apart from the 23-inch Hamann Anniversary Evo Black Line wheels and the necessary wide tires, the X5 M50d gets wheel arch extensions and a Hamann kit lowering springs to further distinguish the luxury tuned SUV from the BMW Spartanburg plant-built X5 series.

The BMW M Performance variant of the BMW X5 F15 carries standard the M Sport package and the only difference is that the M50d features some accents in Ferric Grey.

Under the hood, the BMW X5 M50d sports a 3.0 liter tri-turbo six-cylinder diesel developing 381 horsepower and 740 Newton meters allowing the powerful X5 to accelerate to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds. The fuel consumption is rated at 6.6 liters per 100 km.

For those who are looking for more performance, DS Automobiles & Auto Werke offer a power upgrade which increases the output from 381 to 462 horsepower. The maximum torque climbs from 740 to 900 Nm.

Auf dem Asphalt hat der BMW X5 M F85 bereits jede Menge Eindruck hinterlassen und sich in mehreren Vergleichstests als das derzeit schnellste Power-SUV erwiesen. Nicht nur im Vergleich zu ihrem Vorgänger kann die zweite Generation des BMW X5 M ein dramatisch verbessertes Kurvenverhalten vorweisen und erreicht damit auf diversen Rennstrecken Rundenzeiten, die für einen über 2,3 Tonnen schweren Offroader eigentlich unmöglich erscheinen.

Dank seines Allradantriebs eignet sich der BMW X5 M aber nicht nur für Fahrspaß auf Asphalt, auch auf verschneitem Untergrund lässt sich die Performance des kraftstrotzenden Kolosses genießen. Dass sich dabei mit den richtigen Reifen auch im Tiefschnee eine Menge jede Menge Spaß haben lässt, zeigen einige neue Fotos eines BMW X5 M in Donington Grey. Das derzeit exklusiv für ausgewählte BMW M-Modelle angebotene Dunkelgrau setzt die aggressiven Formen des Top-X5 nicht nur in der weißen Schnee-Landschaft besonders gut in Szene.

Der BMW X5 M F85 wird von einer weiterentwickelten Variante des aus dem Vorgänger bekannten V8-Biturbo mit 4,4 Liter Hubraum angetrieben. 575 PS und 750 Newtonmeter Drehmoment stehen bereit, um das knapp 4,90 Meter lange Luxus-SUV in wenig mehr als vier Sekunden auf 100 km/h zu treiben. Trotz seiner gewaltigen Stirnfläche muss der BMW X5 M mit M Driver’s Package auch bei 280 km/h noch elektronisch an einer weiteren Beschleunigung gehindert werden.

Mit einem Preis von 114.300 Euro kostet die schärfste Variante des BMW X5 F15 allerdings auch mehr als das Doppelte eines Basis-X5, hinzu kommt der hohe Unterhalt durch Versicherungs- und Kraftstoffkosten. Wer es sich leisten kann, erhält mit dem BMW X5 M allerdings ein Fahrzeug, das Platzangebot und Komfort wie kein anderes Luxus-SUV mit beeindruckender Performance kombiniert.

Er, he's been pretty vocal about how fantastic his Signal Green F80 M3 is that he uses on a daily basis. If you actually had enough knowledge of what he has said over the last few months instead of just spouting conjecture, then you would know this.
