I'm fine with how it is now. Too much chrome and you risk to have a mirror instead of a C-Pillar.

Each to their own, personally I think it's their least successful design since BMW took control of RR. Great car otherwise though.

Obviously RR coupe designs are more or less cabriolets with funny fixed roof. Be sure "Corniche" - or whatever the Wraith Cabrio will be called - will look great. Just like looking at Phantom Coupe the Wraith also looks like a platform for a magnificent convertible. Cabrio version is coming soon ...

2015 Rolls-Royce Wraith Drophead Coupe spied for the first time

Could be launched next summer
The 2015 Rolls-Royce Wraith Drophead Coupe has been spied for the first time.
Designed to slot below the Phantom Drophead Coupe, the Wraith convertible has a familiar design but eschews the stylish roof for a power folding soft top. Additional changes are limited but the rear end has been redesigned to accommodate the folding roof.
Power will be provided by a twin-turbo 6.6-liter V12 engine that develops 632 PS (465 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. This enables the coupe to accelerate 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, so expect the convertible to be a few ticks slower.
While the model looks virtually production ready, speculation suggests the Wraith Drophead Coue won´t be launched until next summer.

Latest spy-shots show how sleek and sexy the next addition to the Ghost family , the Wraith DropHead (working title) will look. Interpreting a mini-Phantom Drophead Coupe swept back nautical look gives the car a powerful appearance and perfect cruising stance just what you need for the South of France. Of course a brisk drive in the mountains is offered with the same engine as found in the Wraith so you will have the balance of elegance and power.

It will be absolutely Perfect for Spring time in Geneva. This will be one of the cars of 2015.

The first photoshopped render has arrived. Although I expected to see a bit more dimension at the rear end , it looks like it has just been removed by drawing a line leaving it looking flat when you can actually see there is more of a raised rear similar to the Phantom DHC that gives a better balance to the deck once the roof is dropped.

Rolls-Royce Wraith Burns to the Ground in Chinese Trailer Fire
a0d5883125bb9172946791cc490da44e.webp

Alas, we’ve reached that point in the Rolls-Royce Wraith’s life where we have to talk about its first major incident. This took place in China, where an example of the luxurious coupe was totally destroyed by fire while it was on a trailer.

As you can see in the adjacent image, which comes fromwreckedexotics, this is probably the worst condition a fire could bring a Rolls-Royce in.

The Wraith was just one of the victims of the fire - the platform was transporting a larger number of exotics and luxury vehicles. Among others, an Audi R8 and a Porsche Cayenne were carbonized.

The circumstances that led to the massive fire are still unknown, but the flames appear to have engulfed the entire trailer. The metallic structure held its shape, but it’s not like this helped with the damage in any way. Perhaps identifying the burned vehicles was easier this way.

If you ask us, given the nature of the transported machines, this incident deserves to be transformed in a form of art that could be used to raise awareness on such matters.

To be the best of our knowledge, there have been no other important incidents involving a Wraith so far. Considering the smooth driving-inducing Grand Tourer nature of the vehicle, ample body roll included, let’s hope that we won’t witness one too soon.

It's a horrible picture. :(

Maybe in its spiritual form it will haunt the firebugs even if it is another car for eternity...

In the year of the new 7er, RR comes with a cR based on the old one ;)

It's going to be a spectacular looking 4 seat cabrio, that's for sure!

Only a select few have seen the finished car but the amount of requests to place the first deposits are based upon the spy photographs. The Wraith DHC will be one of 2015s most sought after luxury items.

Where is my Commission Check?.... :-) Spy Photo's=Sold Cars=Early Hype.....I think BMW plays that card as well as anyone........Thanks. PalBay

Rolls-Royce Wraith Drophead Coupe officially confirmed for mid-2016 debut

To "boldly shape the future of the marque"
Rolls-Royce has officially confirmed the development program for the Wraith Drophead Coupe.

Scheduled for a debut somewhere in mid-2016, the vehicle will become the sixth member of RR’s lineup. The manufacturer says the car will “boldly shape the future of the marque with contemporary, graceful and sensuous styling. It will deliver effortless, open-top touring through the perfect marriage of modern Rolls-Royce luxury, style and elegance with an engaging and exhilarating driving experience”.

Peter Schwarzenbauer, Chairman of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, comments that “the announcement of a new Rolls-Royce model is always a seminal moment in the automobile industry”. The Wraith Drophead Coupe is currently “undergoing a rigorous process of prototype testing as it enters its next stage of development”.

As reported before, the vehicle will probably be powered by a twin-turbo 6.6-liter V12 engine that develops 632 PS (465 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. We could expect a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration in 4.6 seconds and a starting price tag of about 250,000 GBP ($422,000).

I'm in general a great fan of sedans. But the Wraith is one of few coupes which make me really enthusiastic. :)
