Wraith [Official] Rolls-Royce Wraith

Rolls-Royce Wraith forum covering all generations of the grand touring coupe. Discuss new models, design, future developments, spy shots, industry news, technology, specifications, ownership experiences, and Rolls-Royce heritage. Related: Dawn, Ghost.
While it may be a little grandiose of Rolls-Royce to say its new Wraith coupe, unveiled at the 83rd Geneva Motor Show, was inspired by a period of design the likes of which will never be seen again (the 1930s), there’s no question that the rakish, fastback body style is one of the most interesting cars to emerge from the company’s West Sussex doors in quite some time. The majority of the Wraith looks much as you’d expect from a two-door take on the Ghost sedan. The coupe shares many of the Ghost’s style points, with only minor revisions such as a recessed grille and new front air dam. But for those familiar with Rolls’ Phantom coupe, such an aggressive roofline may come as a surprise – a pleasant one. While it’s no Jonckheere Aerodynamic Coupe, aka “Round Door Rolls” (Google it, kids), the Wraith does its best to bring back some of the emotion, elegance, and imposing presence that many of the most famous models of Rolls’ past possessed.

It's ugly that for sure. But since when has a car like this had to be beautiful. All it has to do is say look at me, I have money.

If the interior design is a bit SUV like, at least the detailing is beautiful.

Disappointing. It could have been PHENOMENAL COUPE. Watch for next gen Continental GT penned by Luc Donckerwalke.

Now these photos gives you a bit more accurate impression of the car ...

Perhaps today the fastback shape on sports cars is not as popular as it once was ... But it's an instant classic. Quite some vintage / classic sports cars are / were fastbacks. Incl. various Ferraris, Porsches, Astons etc.

Regarding the design ... it works IRL. It really does. I'm not bluffing! IMHO much better in uni-tone than in two-tone versions. And I prefer the car in lighter colors - since the lines are more visible.

The car is massive (typical RR) yet sleek at the same time (something new for a modern RR). It's not as dorky-looking in IRL as some photos may suggest!!! The ones showing the real size & proportions (eg. when contrasted against people standing beside the car) are much more representative about how the car really looks like & what kind of stance & presence it oozes. Also there are quite some very interesting lines which are hardly seen in all the photos yet published - but IRL they are very important part of the design ... and help the car design to flow well & to make it much less monotone as it looks in the photos.

It's a classic. Yet it's somehow very modern and the same time.

Drama? Guaranteed! Especially when it comes to RR.

Regarding Conti GT vs Wraith or "Bentley must love this" etc ... Wraith is in a much higher & different territory ... it base price tag starts 100k higher (or +50%) than the one of Conti GT W12. Not to mention that 90% of RRs sold are bespoke - meaning the end price VERY MUCH exceeds the base price. And there is a even more difference in the characters of those two mentioned cars: Wraith is not as much a sports car as Conti GT is. It's much more a Gran Turismo than a sports car: traveling with comfort & speed & style.

The solid color one looks much better. This could have been a truly beautiful car, but it isn't. It is more of a enigma instead. Still though it isn't ugly anymore to me, and it will surely turn heads everywhere and the interior is to die for.

That does look good in some strange way.

Absolutely stunning. And that's not because I'm some crazy BMW fanboy that per default likes everything owned by the brand.
Magnificent is the right word for this car.

I don't like it. Maybe a full black one would work.

Oh, it will work believe me

@The Artist: thanks a lot for those bro! Really nice. I really can't believe you don't like this.

Told you so about the color ;)

And it really is pretty. I despise the A7, yet love this. Devil is in the detail, they say?

I notice that a lot of people don't like this, but I think it's probably the most beautiful car I've ever seen. I absolutely love it :-/

I want to go sit it in on Friday.

Not the most beautiful, but really, really good. Yes. People will get used to it will will start liking it, no doubt.
