Just had to make sure it's not my friend's Rolls, but this one seems to have Florida license plates (his car is registered in New York)

It wasn't just the V12, the whole package of comfort, opulence, silence, and unparalleled luxury I suppose...

Like I said, it makes an S-Class/7-series/A8 low grade; it makes a Ferrari/Aston feel cheap&unreliable, a Lexus' feels boneshakingly hard to ride in, and all the "worldly" models from other OEM's just feel nasty

Actually after riding in Maybach S600 and a Ghost, the Maybach has the Ghost beat in regards to NVH and ride quality. That's not to say the Ghost's ride isn't magnificent- Magic Body Control is a game changer for this class of automobile. We'll see the next Phantom and Continental with similar technology.

Also, the leather work and quality in the Maybach, especially with the higer grade Designo is just sublime. Rolls Royce does not offer special leather work like quilted stictching and braided piping unless you take the bespoke route ($10k+ & 2-3 extra months of waiting). A leather headliner shouldn't be an option on a Rolls, imo.

That aside, the cachet of Rolls-Royce remains unrivaled.

With all due respect, I'd get a Rolls over a Maybach any day, but that's just me...A Rolls, at least in my view, is a damn sight more elegant somehow

That said, even though I'd never splash for an S600 Maybach, there's no denying that it's a sublime thing indeed

The Magic Body Control of Mercedes is a gimmick,no practical use, according to some motor magazine's test and users's feedback.

So, you may have noticed that I’ve been away for the past 2 weeks, given the rarity of the posts recently. I’ve been in the States, reminiscing with old college friends and what not, trying to get my mind off of the stress of the work. Anyway, I ended up in New York for the last days of my trip Stateside. While at it, I had the chance to also catch up with a guy 2 years older than I am, who was like an older brother figure to me.
Initially, we met up at a hookah lounge, where we enjoyed a smoke, as well as a drink or two together. During our chat, he was telling me what he had been up to from the time he graduated from college in 2004, all the way to present day. Me being the car enthusiast that I am, as we kept chatting along, I've noticed a Wraith parked right across the street with the corner of my eye, but carried on having a conversation with my friend nevertheless, completely unaware of who the owner is.
Anyway, after a point, we thought it'd be a good idea to have dinner, to which I was still thinking we'd either take a cab or the subway; but he clarified that part by saying "I'll give you a ride", even though I was still completely oblivious to what he drove.
As we crossed the street, we were getting closer and closer to the Wraith, as a result of which I joked "Hey, nice ride, surely it must be yours". From the moment I said it, it only took him half-a-second to unlock the doors, which left me speechless for a good 2-3 minutes.

Personal thoughts on the car:
-The suicide doors are just so damn cool in real life, though it does pose a challenge in NYC, where there is a frequent presence of mailboxes, trash bags and fire hydrants by the curbs.
- The interior is a sublime place to be in, anything that might look plastic in pictures, I can assure you, isn't. The thick carpets are so soft and comforting it's not even funny
- The ride is by far and away the most comfortable I've ever had in my whole life. NYC has atrocious roads, but you just waft over them all without feeling a thing, as if you are riding a magic carpet
- As noisy as NYC is, you are perfectly cocooned in absolute silence in the cabin. I wouldn't be lying if I told you no noise gets through the damn thing
- The constellation-lighting on the ceiling is a really nice touch
- It's a very heavy car, but surely does perform when you put your foot down (625 bhp afterall)

Anyway, for now, that's all folks...I will write further when I have time once again.

In case anyone ever wondered how infantile I was throughout the entire ride, this guy acts exactly the same way, LOL

There are PLENTY of them in Monaco. Not to mention all the Ghosts, and a lot of Phantoms. Still haven't spotted any Dawn though.

I spotted this utterly destroyed Wraith sitting in the back of a salvage yard. Supposedly this Wraith rolled over at 100+ mph. The driver was under the influence and has since been prosecuted.

The biggest automotive wreckage I've ever seen. The cabin remained in intact aside from deployed airbags and the windshield did not shatter; a testament to its safety.

Ja that will buff right out.
I wonder if the grille will be placed on someone's mantle? Or end up on an Escalade or Chrysler 300?

Given the speed of the crash, the grill might have been thrown into someone's house.

That's just painful to see in pictures, let alone witness it as a driver/passenger....Kudos to Rolls on the safety front though, any other car would be in a thousand pieces
