X-Class [Official] Mercedes-Benz X-Class

The Mercedes-Benz X-Class (W470) is a pickup truck that was sold by Mercedes-Benz. Unveiled at a world premiere in Cape Town, South Africa in July 2017, the pickup took its chassis from the Nissan Navara and employed many Mercedes-specific features and technologies, including some engines not shared with the Navara. It first went on sale in late 2017. Production of the X-Class was halted in May 2020 due to slow sales.
Contrary to popular belief putting a star on any car doesn’t mean it will be a success.

Now if they put a propeller it would be a whole different story...

It was a woeful piss take and not even SA's best boytjies fell for it. And if you can't sell a bakkie in SA

What is a boytjie? There is only one not very clear definition on urbandictionary.

^ One option may be to base it on the new Sprinter, which...

I wish they did. Sprinters are everywhere and competitively priced. My family wanted a Mercedes pickup for ages, the concept was perfect, social media everywhere was going wild, then everything they could do wrong, they acheieved, from being nothing like the concept to ridiculous pricing, I really hope they do something sensible, as we got an Amarok instead and that's going to be built with Ford next generation so bah.

Deserved failure for trying to pass a warmed over class laggard as a Mercedes Benz.

I hope this is another lesson learnt.

^I just don't get how Citan is still alive and it's even...

It's serving the commercial market whereas the x-class is also reliant on perception of the private sector perhaps? At least here in Australia this class of vehicle is as much about utility as it is personal statement for a very large part of the market.

Good riddance. A real Mercedes-Benz pickup would be a sight to behold. Can you imagine a pickup NOT related to the Bama SUVs, instead spun from the S-Class gene pool?

Not sure how long the Citan survives. MB may have too many compacts?... :)

These here were built by Karl Middelhauve in Wisconsin. :)(y):D
