A-Class (W176) [Official] Mercedes-Benz A-Class Facelift (W176)

The W176 model was introduced at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show officially as a subcompact executive / C-segment model for the first time after being a supermini / B-segment for fifteen years.
I just can't stomach that MS edition. :wtf:

Reminds me a bit of the recent Japan only Petronas Green Edition. :)

Off topic, but I just saw an A45 on the road, couldn't snap a pic cause it was on the move. My question is,being that it's not sold here in the states, how does one go about importing a car like that?
Or it might be Canadian. I've seen lots of A's from Canada here in NYC.

MBUSA should at least offer the A45 here. It looks miles better than any CLA.

I live in Florida snow birds are a common sight here. Wish I had a chance to capture a pic to cross reference.

Some DETAILS about the AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension of the A-Class

With the facelift of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class the AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension with adaptive adjustable damping (in 2 stages, 2 steering characteristics and additional driving program) becomes available for the A 250 Sport and A 250 4MATIC SPORT as well as the AMG model A 45 4MATIC.

With the new adaptive adjustable damping the AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension offers a total of 2 different suspension levels, which can be selected by pressing a button - the driver can choose between "Comfort" and "Sport". With these two settings a large spread between maximum driving dynamics and comfort was achieved, the electronically controlled damping system provides an even sportier and on request a more comfortable setup than the AMG sports suspension.

Details and scope of the AMG RIDE CONTROL chassis:
  • 2 chassis stettings: "Comfort" and "Sport"
  • continuous damping system
  • damping adjustment is controlled individually for each wheel
  • AMG speed-sensitive sports steering with 2 steering characteristics
  • additional "RACE" driving program for the Mercedes-AMG 4MATIC A45

So not a review of sorts, but a comparison.

Rebellion TCU upgrade Vs Latest MB DCT Software

I just picked up the car a week ago after a service where they flashed the DCT software to the latest. Initially I could really tell that the Rebellion TCU flash wasn't there anymore as the torque just wasn't pulling quite as hard. When you first put the tune on your car, it takes quite a few Km's for it to adapt to your driving. By then, any real gains aren't quite as obvious to you, but they are there indeed!

What i miss:
The Rebellion tune really does make gear shifts ever so slightly faster and manual mode is nicer to use. The extra torque that the tune develops isn't insanely different, but certainly something I noticed once it wasn't there.

the new MB DCT software which some of you may have already been rocking for quite some time now has really improved things at the slow speed side of things. Creeping off in slow traffic seems a much more civil affair with it just feeling ever so smoother. It feels as though the car has gone and done a course in gear changing/gear hanging etiquette. There are still the odd rough starts which I just put it down to typical DCT behaviour, it just doesn't get it 'right' 100% of the time.

I want cake and eat it too:
If only Rebellions tune could incorporate some of that behavioural modification that the new MB DCT software has - now i'd be a happy man. Not sure if I'm going to re-flash the Rebellion tune now..

hope that helps anyone who may have thought about purchasing one of these units.
