Official: Mclaren X-1 Concept

When I clicked on this thread, I thought we were getting a preview of the F1-successor.

Same here. Afterwards, I was like

Anyway, just another month to go. We will see the P12 at the Paris Motor show.

You don't get it guys, it was a McLaren design exercise just to make the look the Mp4-12c a bit more interisting (in comparition).
Kindda: "look, the Mp4 wasn't that bad"

What a glaring comparison. Its hard to wrap my head around the reality that the car to the right is 4-6 times more expensive than the one to the left. Zero improvement what so ever. It's like a super car designed by Homer Simpson*no exaggeration*

I bet that "private costumer" brough his design sketches with him and the poor McLaren designers had to clean the mess!

Absolutely, the owner had the money and he wanted to be Batman.

But I am totally bowled over by the attention to detail and the quality of the manufacturing.

Meanwhile in Italy
One thing I find disappointing with the SP12 is that Ferrari didn't create bespoke wheels to go with the car, it is missing that final 1% of full customization .

I suppose so but with the amount of money he has spent on this car he could have bought the real batman car. But anyway it is his money, good on him for living it up.

Took the words right out of my mouth!
For the first time in history I find the MC-12 appealing :D This one-off car helps Macca A LOT!!!! :D

It's not bad.

It looks even worse in the video, like an unsuccessful medical procedure where the top half of the MP4-12C was grafted onto a Audi TT and a cockroach

True. However the classic rims work on the car's favor of being instantly identified as a Ferrari. With a custom design it would have looked like a kit car or one of those 986 Boxster-based Ferraris on eBay.

I don't agree. Does the 599 GTO with Ferrari bodykit and BBS FI rims look like some Mansory aftermarket kit?
