First generation M3...to die for. 3rd and 4th, money... but this last M4 seems like a clinical piece. This car just seems audacious, ridiculous,..so while I wouldn't consider it a "better" car, I'm more excited by it.

The GT, which uses a rowdier version of the outgoing 5.0-liter Coyote V8, now has 435 hp and 400 lb-ft of twist, up 15 hp and 10 lb-ft from its predecessor. The compression ratio is 11:1. Roll a base 2015 6MT Mustang GT fastback onto the scales and it'll show 3705 lbs. That's an 87-lb increase over the 2014. With the new automatic, the Mustang GT weighs 3729 lbs, a 54-lb increase.

I'm exactly like you I prefer noise and stripes, light weight thin body and rip roaring performance. The old cars had so much more character than the whisper quiet new computer controlled, engine blowing through the speaker boring cars, they sounded fast just going 20km/h!I'm not anti BMW, just anti the boring crap they build today. I want something new and cool like a 2002 Turbo, loud exhaust and strips, the lot.
BMW has lost it's MOJO.
That is why I do like this Mustang GT350 a heck of a lot! It's old school, huge power from NA engine, that revs too kingdom come with a massive V8 roar, in your face styling, love that massive open mouth type grill and superb Recaro sports seats. And even more appealing, it has a manual gearbox, for pure fun for the enthusiast!
They did have the previous Mustang in SA but only as a special import and very limited quantities and quite a big price! Some LHD versions I saw for sale at one or two places in Johannesburg but they had a nicely inflated sticker price to match, almost the same price as an E90 M3 at the time! This one should for sure be for sale as they mentioned Ford will be selling in 25 RHD countries world wide, yippee!
These cars are hugely popular here in Middle East, the stang and it's arch rivals Camaro and Challenger are a treat to see and hear as they normally have the loudest engine sounds than most other cars on the road!

According to recent reports, the 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 will be more costly than the 2014 Ford Mustang Boss 302. But the Blue Oval won’t stop at this, apparently. A hardcore GT350R is said to follow at the North American International Auto Show.
Put side by side to its closest competitor, the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, the Shelby-ified GT350 packs a lot more gadgets and features inside, while the Z/28 makes do without an air conditioning system as standard. According to insider information sourced byRoad & Track, the GT350R will be more focused.
The aforementioned automotive publication is informing what’s naturally expected from such an evolutionary machine - “better aero, better brakes, and better rubber,” as well as to the deletion of “the back seat... with additional bracing likely.”
Weight saving is the name of the game here
It’s still a mystery how much the Shelby GT350 will weigh, but the base GT fastback mated to the six-speed stick shift sports a 3,705-pound (1,680 kilograms) base curb weight. The 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 track warrior tips the scale at 3,820 pounds (1,732 kg), while the 2015 Camaro 2SS boasts with a weight of 3,935 pounds (1,784 kilograms) as standard.
We advise our readers to take the upcoming Detroit Auto Show revealing of the 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R with a grain of salt for all the obvious reasons. Shelby GT350R Mustang storms into 2015 NAIAS with 500+ HP
The most track-ready road-going production Mustang ever built
Ford has officially unveiled the Shelby GT350R Mustang at the 2015 Detroit Motor Show.
Described as “the most track-ready road-going production Mustang ever built”, the model will be launched on the market later this year, “delivering never-before-seen track capability from a Mustang”, thanks to “innovations in aerodynamics, chassis engineering and light-weighting”.
The aerodynamic kit for the Mustang includes a new hood vent, an aggressive diffusor, vented wheel wells and turbulence-reducing fender vents, wheel air curtains and side skirts. The front splitter has been revised to maximize the downforce, while an all-new high-efficiency carbon fiber rear wing has been added. Other exterior touches include red painted brake calipers, red pin striping at the edges of the optional over-the-top racing stripes and Shelby GT350R badging.
The machine is powered by the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine from Ford, featuring a flat-plane crankshaft, which optimizes high-speed engine breathing. The 5.2-liter unit produces more than 500 HP (368 kW) and more than 542 Nm (400 lb-ft). It is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard and a tuned limited-slip Torsen differential with 3.73 axle ratio. An electronically modulated rear-mounted air-to-oil differential cooler maintains “ideal temperatures during track driving”.
Other improvements include 19-inch lightweight carbon fiber wheels, making Ford the first major automaker to introduce this wheel technology as standard equipment. The manufacturer has removed the air conditioning, the stereo system, the rear seats, the trunk floorboard and carpet, the backup camera and the emergency tire sealer and inflator in order to achieve lower weight. Exhaust resonators have also been removed for weight savings, creating a “sharper exhaust tone”.
Thanks to this, the car is 59 kg (130 pounds) lighter than the Shelby GT350 Track Packmodel. For customers seeking comfort, Ford will be offering the Electronic Package, adding a dual-zone air conditioning, an 8-inch touch screen with navigation, a seven-speaker audio system, turn signal mirrors and more.
