Mustang Ford Mustang GTD And GTD Competition

I just noticed the similar wheel design between this and the Mission X.

Yes they both have Michelin's.😃

You don't think they're similar? 5 spokes, each comprised of two hollow segments and a high collar thingy on the rim for aero purposes. Of course there's differences also, but I think the pattern is clear.

Mustang is far more "hexagonal" than the Porsche that's all. More Lamborghini in design, least to us!

Imagine switching to track mode, turning back and watching the suspension do its thing.

This is going to be an epic battle with the 992.2 GT2 RS.

The looks of the GTD are brilliant, so off to a good start.

First they need to beat the 991 GT2RS. Which is by no means guaranteed.

That said, the car looks solid. Well sorted. But if it really weighs in the region of 1800-1850kg, it's still gonna be a struggle.

I saw the GTD badge and I was happy thinking that Ford had been reasonable and made a 6-speed manual RWD Mustang with a 6.7 Power Stroke Turbodiesel V8, hence the name "Mustang GTD".

Sadly, however the Mustang GTD isn't what I thought it was. 😞🤦‍♂️

It's gonna be funny if the new ZR1 beats it on the ring without the trick suspension, GT3 derived aero, and not being of limited production.

Do we know what technology upgrades the ZR1 will have ?

Oh, that was just a speculation on my part. The prototypes don't look all that advanced to my eyes and I doubt Chevrolet would do an inboard suspension like Ford did.

That base price suddenly lost all meaning with the introduction of the Performance pack. Who would order a GTD without the DRS and canards??
